The *OFFICIAL* Russia Is About To Invade Ukraine Thread

Couple of generals defect to his side and you could really have a ball game, things might move a lot faster than expected. What that means in Ukraine is anyones ****ing guess.
Yeah to be serious, I would kind of rather Russia just continue down this loser path that they've been on then to think of a possibility where a ****ing mercenary army thug gains control of the largest nuclear arsenal in the world and might still want to continue this war against Ukraine.

Russia is never getting rid of Putin for a more perfect union, its going to be more of the same, Russians have had about 5 minutes of democracy in their history.

It sounds like **** is heating up.

Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin said his forces have control of military facilities in Rostov-on-Don and control of the airfield there.

"We are at headquarters at 7:30 a.m. Military facilities in Rostov, including the airfield are under [our] control," Prigozhin said in a video posted on the Wagner official Telegram channel.

"Planes that leave for combat work leave as usual no problems. Medical flights are leaving as usual. All we did was to take control so that the attack aviation would not strike us but strike in the Ukrainian direction."
Prigozhin said he is in Rostov-on-Don and his men are not stopping the officers from carrying out their duties.

"The main headquarters, the main control point is working as normal, there are no problems. No officers have been cut off," Prigozhin said.

CNN cannot independently verify his claims.

Remember a year or so ago when Tucker was praising Putin and attacking western democracies almost nightly? Huh. Seems like western democracies can really kick *** when they want to.

Remember when Donald said this? Yes, Putin really is a genius. He’s strengthened western democracies, made NATO more popular than ever, and has brought Ukraine into the west. Thanks genius!

Absolutely. This has a long way to go and id be surprised to see Putin deposed. But it is ironic that a little over a year ago Kyiv was preparing for an invasion. Now Moscow is… what an amazing war. Super effective.

Pretty sure Prigozhin was behind all the troll farms that boosted Clinton conspiracies and ****ed with the electorate in 2016. His troll farms did stuff like showing the Pope endorsing Trump and created groups of fellow African Americans who were disenchanted with Clinton and decided to stay home rather than vote. I’m unsure what he’ll do in Ukraine if given power. Would he use weapons or tactics that even Putin wouldn’t? Will he pull out seeing what a mess this has made? He has no love for the west or America. In fact, he sounds like he’s even more nationalist than Putin. Yikes and now it sounds like the Chechens, bought off by Putin, are moving to head off Wagner. This is escalating into a civil war.

This is what I’m reading from news outlets and other Russian insiders.

I know I know, he’s old and boring. But isn’t it nice to have a calm and mature leader as president? He’s letting Russia figure things out on their own. Imagine if Trump were president? He’d be tweeting like a teenage girl. He’d be undercutting our own interests. He’d be giving Russia ammo to claim that this was a CIA operation. He’d be making the situation all about himself.

Instead, fortunately, we have a government that is playing this cool. Letting this sort itself out. Playing the long game. After all, things will most likely get worse in Russia before they get better.

It is too early to know, but Prigozhin may have just taken over Russia. If Prigozhin loyalists are appointed as the new heads of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of the Interior, and FSB then Prigozhin has control of Russia even if Putin is still President.

When you have a force that has been sweeping through the country like a janitor on his second day on the job, you don't quit just to avoid spilling Russian blood, not when you've already spilled it. The question is, what did he get out of it? I suspect he'll be the new defense minister, as well as at least $1B richer. Because it's all about the power and the money. It always is.

He goes into exile?

He goes into exile?

2033 -- Mogilev, Belarus -- Imperial Palace Hotel

Prigozhin: "Hi I'd like a room for the night."
Hotel Clerk: "Very well, sir, what type of room would you like?"
P: "No windows!"
HC: "Sir, all of our rooms have windows."
P: "I'll pay double, just board up the windows, twice."
HC: "I'm not sure..."
P: "Just ****ing do it! I'll pay 10 times the normal rate. I just can't be near any window, ever."
HC: Picks up the desk phone "Hi boss, this is Arkady at the front desk, I have a man here who will only stay in a room with no windows or if the windows are boarded up."
Boss: "Who is this guest?"
HC: Attention back on Prigozhin, "Sir, may I ask you name?"
P: "I'm Yevgeny Prigozhin."
HC: Back on the phone "He is Mr. Yevgeny Prigohzin, sir."
B: "Ahhh, I understand. Tell Mr. Prigozhin that we will take care of this immediately and that we much appreciate his patronage."
HC: "Mr. Prigohzin, we will take care of the issue immediately and you room will be ready soon. We appreciate that you have chosen to stay with us. Would you care for a complimentary beverage at the bar and maybe something to eat?"
P: "I only eat and drink food that I purchased myself, after wandering randomly for more than an hour, from a shop that I have never been to before, thank you."
