I don't think the Jazz view Hendricks as a plug in guy at all. That was Walker (who they had ranked higher.) I think the Jazz like a lot of things about Hendricks, but they are more interested in him as a blank slate to build as they want him. He's going to get a list of things to work on before they start incorporating him in a meaningful way. I'm perfectly OK with this because watching his film from college, his coaching staff didn't do him any favors when it came to his development.
He's going to get a lot of G League burn to start the season. Brice and Keyonte probably do too.
The funny thing is that I viewed Jalen Williams for the Thunder as a solid sized 3 and Ochai a little undersized for the 3 but looked at their measurements and they are basically the same size. For some SFs I think Agabaji can guard the 3. It helps he has an awesome wingspan. It'll be interesting to see how Hendricks guards the 3. I think he'll have an easier time guarding the 3 VS the 4 at this point but that will change once he gets some bulk. I think Sensabaugh is going to be **** on defense and he's going to get targeted when he's on the floor.
Hard to argue there. We’ll see I guess. My only real concern is that we load up too much on talent and squeeze the rooks out. I feel like we got some real draft steal sleepers and think it would be criminal not to lean into their development. For some SFs I think Agabaji can guard the 3. It helps he has an awesome wingspan. I think George is going to get minutes unless THT gets consistent time at the 1. If Sexton misses games then George is definitely getting minutes. The other guys will probably get limited minutes; I expect us to be pretty good = more minutes for the rookies, even if it's garbage minutes. That said, I hope Hendricks gets at least 10 minutes a game so he can at least get experience so he knows what he needs to work on and to not get disenfranchised.Hard to argue there. Well, we know that the Jazz doesn't want to be in the top 10 of the draft and have to have that pick be used by them instead of by OKC. So they are going to play well enough, if they can, to be above the bottom 10 in the league. If the Sixers don't match I think they almost have to trade KO.
I have the feeling none of the rooks are going to play much until the trade deadline similar to Agbaji this past season.

What’s my hurry for adding a perfect piece? They’re rare and hard to acquire. If NBA GM work is more often like chess than it is like checkers (IMO, this is the case) then singular moves set up larger, more complex sets of moves. And just like chess, there may be multiple targets.
Second, this idea that we have "needs" that can be met before the setup for those complex moves is complete is moot until it unfolds in its entirety.
So I guess my question for you is, what's your hurry?
Unless they see him as a 3 and the a soon to be first option off the bench for Lauri. Then we are 2 deep at the 4 (JC and Reed), 2 deep at the 5 (Kessler and KO), and 2 deep at the 3 (Lauri and Hendricks). It's not that confusing if you look at it as Centers and PGs plus Wings as 2s, 3s, and 4s. Then we have 2 actual centers in Kessler and KO with Reed/Collins able to play backup in a bind. We have LOTS of wings. And we have Sexton, THT, and George at the 1.It's super weird how our FO is treatig Hendricks from the moment they drafted him. Every single thing they've done since suggests they don't think he's ready to play... yet. And I completely agree with you that this is at the very least surprising when you consider his skillset. I thought he would be really easy fit in ... not just ours but pretty much any team's rotation, since his skills are not high variance skills or skills highly dependent on teammates. He can shoot, he can dunk and he can defend. He will be able to do this pretty much anywhere... too bad that his anywhere is likely going to be the G-League at least to start his career.
Up in the air I think. Harden has them in a weird spot, but there is no depth behind Embiid if Reed isn't matched and we all know how durable Troel is.So is this a guaranteed Philly not going to match or is it up in the air?
The contract follows the player so it would apply to the other teams as well.I don't know if you guys have talked about this yet, but would that clause of if your team makes it to the conference finals and the contract is guaranteed for 2024 and 2025, Would that apply to whichever team has him at the end of the year? Could that be a sticking point of keeping high end teams from acquiring him this year too? If the Jazz get him? Teams like the Lakers, Nuggets, Heat, 76ers, Celtics, etc., would that apply to them too at the end of the year if we traded him to them?

It’s interesting that you’ve laid it out like that. Essentially, that’s exactly how I build my team every year.Unless they see him as a 3 and the a soon to be first option off the bench for Lauri. Reaves would have been impossible to acquire. What’s my hurry for adding a perfect piece? They’re rare and hard to acquire.
