I think my response to trolls is quite mature.

But the day after day clutter of arguing with posters whose only desire is to grab negative attention is so tiresome.

I know. The trolls post inflammatory links designed to stir up emotions much more than they contribute to substantive discussion. They harangue and harass, expecting every one to engage in the manner they demand. They never give the benefit of the doubt or see that there are multiple ways to view a situation.

I know this will fall on deaf ears as you’re not open to critique or change.

I'm famously known for never changing my opinion on anything.

But just know that several other posters have reached out to me in agreement about the things I’ve DMed you about previously.

Sure, just like the CDC whistleblower is real.

So let me be clear, it’s your feeding these trolls that really diminishes this board.

In other contexts, you have understood that one of the forces tearing this country apart is the on-line segregation of communities and sources of information. Why do you want that for JazzFanz?

My kid moved out of the house for college (including renting a furnished apartment from a regular landlord), even though we live across the river from SLU and it hit their pocketbook severely. They're back in the home for graduate school because they won't have time for an outside job and living on a stipend is poverty-level. Whatever required "life skill" you name, they have.

I don't doubt your kid does have life skills and I have always put your kid in a different category than either Gameface's or Galdalfe's kid. If you don't believe me, ask The Thriller. In response to one of his DMs I laid that out. I don't think he should post the contents but he would be able to confirm that I do consider your kid to be in a different situation.

As for your lame defense of Gameface's push for universal participation trophies, the difference in the two statements was the one was worthless while the other was competition.

Fine. You didn't advocate specifically for trophies be awarded for participation, but instead wanted to deemphasize competition in all school sports at every level and in any event that was tied to any funds coming from the government.

Sports in schools or that are subsidized by any government funds should be focused on teaching kids lessons or encouraging them to live more active healthy lives. Sports teaches kids things about good sportsmanship, being a gracious loser or winner, teamwork, working towards a goal, challenging yourself to improve, etc.. That should be the primary point of taxpayer funded sports programs for kids.

I can post the whole thread if you want but you were upset that people wanted to deny boys cosplaying as girls from competing in the girl's division because the detractors claimed the biological advantage boys had over girls wasn't fair. Your solution was to make it so that being fair didn't matter due to sport not being competition.

AIO and SNE have a very good memory of stuff that happened on this site more than 10 years ago when they only joined in the last couple.

I never asked for competition to be deemphasized. I said the point of sports in schools is the educational and developmental aspect of it. And When I say "of it" I mean sports which inherently includes competition.

There is a difference between maintaining the integrity of an Olympic event that could result in a world record and an globally recognized "you're currently the best in world at this thing that you do" aka a gold medal and a bunch of middle schoolers tossing up airballs in the gym for an hour a day. Competition matters. I want transgender students in public schools to be able to compete. I have said that I think it is fine if college level, quasi professional, sports does not allow transgender athletes. Thus the imaginary incentive of boys deciding to identify as girls so that they can win all the sports and steal all the scholarships from your little girl doesn't exist.

I said that if people want purity in sports then they should create private sports leagues. Just like people have suggested that if transgender students want to play sports they should have their own league, you know, the 5 of them out of 80,000 student in Utah. Those 5 kids should form their own league and leave your high value child alone.

Oh, and my name is Gameface dumbass. It says it right over there. But I wouldn't be surprised if you know my IRL name. I wouldn't be surprised if you're a former poster who I used to be friendly with, even one who has been to my house to play in a poker game.

Those three are the ones attacking this movie forwarding an anti-sexualization of children narrative. I find that to be quite the coincidence.

One Brow, Gameface, and Gandalfe were the only ones on this board opposing a favorable depiction of the movie when as far as I could tell, not a single one of them had even seen the movie. There did seem to be something that resonated with all three that prompted all three and only those three to jump on the favorable depiction of a movie none of them had seen. This movie with a message against the sexualization of children, and those promoting the movie, seemed to prompt a defensive response. It was a coincidence that I found interesting.
