Keyonte George Hype & Appreciation Thread

I think like bodybuilder on steroids when I think muscular frames. these guys are ripped but on the trim side. my point is he doesn't need 30lb of muscle but he needs strength

-George
I kinda like the SGA type of sneaky strenght for George. Just enough so that you dont get easily pushed off balance, can give some shoulder to create space or keep players on your hip, but not too much muscle so you dont lose that quickness and agility.

No one is telling any NBA player to look like a body builder.....

Those stat lines are amazingly similar-- but 70 games played versus just 24 so far. There are 48 games left this season for Keyonte to bring the numbers up- and I would be surprised if he doesn't.

Been a month since the last time we had a reason to bump this thread, but I think the Bucks game was his best game of the season and also probably one of the first times when I felt like he was the best guard in the game for us that we ended up winning.

There is also the one hype statline:

Those are Keyonte's per 36 numbers for the 4th quarters he has recorded minutes in (41 games). Pretty impressive apart from the turnovers and stocks. Especially the FTR (6.3 FTA with just 6.3 2PA!)

Lies, damned lies and "per 36 numbers for the 4th quarters he has recorded minutes in".

I mean jesus, that's what you call reaching.

Both the eye test and the honest stats say that Keyonte is the worst rotation player on the team. Why not just accept it? If he gets better, great. If he doesn't, not great. No need to go to ridiculous lengths to try to prove there's some hidden treasure in his game.

He was good in the Bucks game because his shots fell. That's what it pretty much comes down to for him and I suspect it's gonna be the same story all his career.

Oh wow. Such an aggressive attack against the first positive thing posted in his hype thread in over a month. We should only trash him is that it?

I even started by saying "its been a month since we last had a reason to bump this thread".... which to be fair is probably overly negative.

Also another big positive on Keyonte.

He has managed to cut down on the telegraphed cross court passes as of late. Cant even remember the last time he did that, and at the very least he was doing them much more frequently early in the season.

Keyonte last 5 games:
16.4 PPG on 54/45/89 shooting, along with 4.2 boards and 2.8 assists in just 24.4 mpg.

Per 36 that is 24.2/6.2/4.1.

Is the rook figuring stuff out?
Those shooting percentages are what im loving. Its a make or miss league. If you are making shots most nights then you are awesome. If you are missing then you suck. Especially from a point guard/shooting guard perspective. He was missing shots like crazy and he sucked ***. Lately he has been making shots and he has been awesome.

I have a feeling that this particular post will be returned to multiple times during the coming years.

I am also starting a campaign to have your nickname changed into Tremendous Downside as you live up to this name time after time. I applaud for you consistency! I wonder if someone could create a net± per36 report of your posts. :D

The most impressive thing Keyonte did last game was that even though he was hot, he realized that Lauri was even hotter and deferred the ball to him in isolation for the last two key offensive possessions. JC would never.

So its not just about the efficiency. Being smart and making good decissions is a big part of it as well. Keyonte has been great at that area all year, and his own usage is much lower than what he has the talent for.

To be fair to Sexton, he's at 25.8/3.7/6.5 on 48/38/88 shooting per 36 over the whole season.
Cy is just being Cy.
I mean its way more likely that clarkson is gone and Keyonte and/or Sexton basically replace him.
