Well, in trumps defense, his lips were moving when he denied his ties to project 2025 so it's not really his fault he was lying. It's the moving of his lips that's to blame for the lying. Not trump though.

This is to finally address the reproducibility crisis that everyone has known about and no one has fixed. Trump's nominee to head the NIH, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, had vowed to tackle this issue head on.

The research coming from these NIH grants has been worthless. We've been paying out billions and getting back useless garbage. Scientists are generating papers, but when the results are double checked by another team, nothing matches. The science has either been faked or done so poorly as to be a waste of time. Taking a pause to weed out the criminals and incompetents gaming the system will do nothing to delay a cure for cancer. If anything, it will speed it up as researchers will know they are building on good science, not some grant scam.

Negotiated a ceasefire in Gaza and got hostages released. Reduced the institutional racism in the Federal government. Rounded up and deported 308 illegal aliens who had committed rape, child molestation, and/or felony assault. Shifted the political climate so significantly that even Democrats voted in favor of the Laken Riley Act. Presented an ultimatum to Putin to end the war in Ukraine. Put the Houthi back on the terror list. There is a shocking number of positive actions that have happened in only one week.

Yeah I checked. It's baked into the constitution. It would need a full-on amendment to change and that's actually what they submitted. But then it would take ratification by the states and I think that requires a 2/3 majority or something. It'll never happen.

It's almost as if the person that Bernie was speaking to is completely unable to say the words yes or no.

But I mean the first question was so insane that's it's hard to fathom that any president would even think of doing. Of course, trump is that president that will do it.

The richest in our country are richer than ever before. The income gap is wider than ever before. So of course trump wants to take money from a program that helps the poor and use that money to pay for tax cuts for the richest in our society. That is insane and shouldn't be allowed yet I'm almost certain that it's going to happen. Smh
 
Haven’t heard any complaints from MAGA World. Since MAGA is strongly anti-science, I wouldn’t expect much, if any. Taking decisions regarding science out of the hands of science. RFK Jr. must be salivating at the thought of being installed at HHS….

I understand that aiding musk, Zuckerberg, bezos etc in their goal to be trillionaires is a very important issue for the American voter but can we help then become trillionaires without stealing from the poor?
Of course for trump, stealing from the poor is probably his favorite part of the plan.

So many slippery snakes. Glad Bernie brought up Medicare negotiating with drug manufactures to get lower prices for seniors. The guy replied it was a Trump priority. Yet Trump signed an EO rescinding the lowering of copays to $2 for at least, the first batch, 101 drugs, something Biden did for seniors and disabled Americans. Mostly diabetes and cholesterol medications. I found 3 of my own medications on the list.

We should also understand that Ramaswamy, who I believe will be in charge of Medicare, favors Medicare Advantage plans(also known as Medicare C, these plans include Part A and Part B, with most offering Medicare Part D prescription coverage at no extra premium). Most Medicare Advantage plans also do not require a premium in addition to the standard Part B premium.

These plans are very popular with seniors, I am enrolled in a Medicare C plan myself.

But people should also understand that these Medicare plans deny claims and procedures more often than Original Medicare. And, they are developing a reputation for all but deciding for their enrollees that “we think you’ve lived long enough” decisions. Congress is aware of this. But many seniors are drawn to plans that offer drug coverage for no Part D premium. I’m not too much up to speed on Ramaswamy’s philosophy, but I’m sure both he, and I need to check Project 2025, would prefer seniors die sooner than later, as a cost saving measure.
