People call him weak all the time that can’t take contact.

Do you think it's better for someone to look like they can do something and not do it, or not look like they can do something and do it.

I don't really think that it's a positive for Tre that he looks strong and avoided contact as much as he did. It could just be coaching, but could also be someone who doesn't like physicality.

If Kas ends up as a star, people are going to ignore turnovers for young guys even more than they do now.

High turnovers hasn't been something that is terribly prohibitive of being a star historicall, so it's been something I overlooked....but indicators are what they are. Fair to see it as a red flag for Kas, but for me personally I'm leaning on my judgement. Poor AST/TOV ratio is bad, but I think Kas is pretty good at what it's suppose to say/indicate about a player.

Haliburton's ball handling was very questionable for a PG and his shooting form was so bad that people were concerned he wasn't going to be a good shooter in the NBA. Those two combined with his ehh athleticism made him drop, but he was ranked around 7th or 8th on big boards.

Joe Ingles and Lonzo Ball were thrown out as comps. Even after the trade from Sacramento there were some that were like "he won't be able to scale up and Sabonis is an ALL STAR!"

I think he is exhibit A as to why we have to take some of the false ceilings with a grain of salt. He is an outlier for sure but guys who are smart and skilled tend to perform pretty well.

But the real answer is Hansen Yang. He's getting overlooked because of race and where he played.

Keandre listed him as one of the guys that might be the surprise star... I immediately grinned thinking of you. He should have been you Cy guy this year.

Just watched this locked on jazz episode with Lief filling in for Locke. Watching the first ten minutes makes me wondering if Tre is being overlooked says Tre has better athletic traits than Ace. Might be able to play pg. on and off ball. Been a five star prospect his whole life but gets less attention than Ace and VJ. Life says he’d take Tre over Ace at either 3 or 5.

There was some twitter biomechanics expert that didn't like the way he ran or moved or some ****... said it is part of the reason he isn't effect at being physical. Now why did I type this... IDK really but that is where we are at this point in the draft cycle. I am a little worried his knees face inward slightly when he sprints... its the difference between Buddy Hield and Devin Booker.

I mean, the Jazz passed on Cam Whitmore twice and GG Jackson three times to draft guards with minimal physical tools in Keyonte and Brice.

To be clear, the Jazz don't ONLY care about interviews as they drafted Filipowski and Collier (who both are terrible interviews), but the through line of their love for Keyonte George and Cody Williams and how much they liked Zach Edey really points to them caring a lot about interviews. Maybe nearly as much as RSCI.

I haven't really heard anything about the Jazz and Ace. Tony Jones seems to think the Jazz would have him ranked over Kon or Fears but didn't seem to suggest this was from sources. Andy Larsen and Sarah Todd haven't heard much about the pick from sources, but both personally dislike Ace a lot as a prospect. Locke hasn't really talked about Ace at all.

100% of FO people say they want tough and team first players.

Why arent Ace or Tre team first players?

He did do it but the combination of his shot making and playing on a terrible team that plays both the 4 and 5 in the paint and terrible shooters on the perimeter severely impacted his play style. And I actually think this aspect of his game will be easier in the nba.

Also has been comping him to SGA in a kind of weird way. I will be happy with taking Tre but the athletic traits don't translate to the court much. I think he might be a "safer" pick than Ace/VJ because he has a bankable skill. I really like him and would hope he can do some of the other stuff. I think he has more of a chance to be a leading scorer than Ace/VJ/Kon and his passing is far ahead of Ace but he may not be the best player of that group because he doesn't do much else and the defense isn't good (he may have the ability to improve there because of his length and athleticism)

Only guy it really impacted was Myles Turner but it was so obvious there was an issue watching him run in college. I don't see any of that with Tre lol.

He's bigger and a better shooter than Cam Thomas... but that could be more of his player type. I know that seems like a diss... it is not. Cam scored 22 ppg a couple years ago and 24 per game this year (only like 30 games tho). We don't know what he looks like in a winning environment and Tre is likely a better passer. Its a concern I have too.

Sounds like Tre has a foot pad problem and a knee pad problem

My favorite Tre comments (whether true or not) were that he was the go to guy in Texas and his teammates really struggled to score so they made him be the score first, shoot first, black hole player that we saw in Texas.

However that he sees himself as a playmaker, a setup man, and a pass first guy because that's where his roots are and that was his HS path.

Could be, but I don't see how that is the same as people underrating Haliburton because his shot looked funny.

I guess maybe your point is that people are making too big of a deal about something that isn't a big deal?

Honestly... looking at Cam Thomas' numbers... Not sure what kind of contract he is looking at and he'd be restricted but he might be a guy I buy on. Very likely a looter in a riot type but also... what if he isn't?

I think he had to pound the ball having two classic paint bigs starting and no one else that could shoot or really any good. He said it himself in an interview he was more of a playmaker for his team than a scorer in high school. He literally had all the wrong components around him. I think he’ll be very different in the nba. He’s also a lot more athletic than given credit for and has elite ball skills. Hes not just a 1 or 2 but he’s also not a tweener. Sometimes I feel he gets a bad rap here because of JC. He’s not at all JC.
