I doubt Malauch is on the Jazz's radar at 5. Maybe if they were drafting at 10, but not 5. If they want another big they will have plenty of quality options at 21.

Fischer is saying VJ to Philly a strong possibility.
His stocks just seem impossibly low. Jarrett Allen was fine and a decent comparison, but it does feel like betting on an exception.
More likely we just move up to 3 using 5 and select either VJ or Tre

no question. his block rate is pretty embarrassing for a 5 with his physical profile and tools and he had about 5 steals all season.
If VJ goes 3, who do we think goes 4 to Charlotte?
VJ at 3 sounds like a massive smokescreen… just saying.
I don’t know why but I’m thinking we may be lower than consensus on Ace.
I think the Jazz will most likely take one of Tre, Ace or VJ at #5. If they have a strong preference among those guys, they may trade up to #4 or #3 to secure the one they want. I think the Jazz are going to draft for star potential. If it were me, I would rank them Tre, then Ace, then VJ.
I don't think the Jazz will draft Kon, who I think is more of a connector and complementary player whom you'd place next to your franchise cornerstones. The Jazz currently don't have franchise cornerstones. Wheras, the Sixers and Hornets arguably do.

We REALLY like VJ and are going to tell the media to spread it everywhere lol.
If I were Charlotte, I'd either take Tre Johnson or trade back with Utah or Washington and take Kon or Maluach. The presumption is that Lamelo and Brandon Miller are already high-volume shooters.

This is code speak for "Charlotte, you should really give us something to trade up." This is why you don't telegraph who you are likely to pick.
My concern with Maluach is that he doesn't process and react fast enough to stay engaged at NBA speed. It's essentially the same issue that Mo Bamba had. Outside of certain situations where he's perfectly positioned, the game just goes by him. This is one of the ways where guys like Kessler and Gobert are superior. They can really read and react. Personally, I might prefer Beringer.
