Following Potential 2025 Draftees

@jerick could you please give us more context on the CBA and the role that Yang played on his team and why his points/rebounds might not match what you might expect from a 7'2" NBA prospect playing in the CBA?
Whoo I just got off from school. I don’t really watch CBA, but Yang is the young core of his team. I think the coaching staff held him back a bit in regular season since he’s needing to stay healthy for the draft though. I just checked his stats and he averaged 33 minutes, 10 rebounds and 16 points. He shot 33% from three which is pretty good. I think that’s a kinda good stat sheet for a late 1st round pick. I could go look for some former NBA players’ performances in CBA for reference.

The Jazz had a center they acquired from the Lakers a couple of seasons ago and his stats in the CBA were pretty similar to Yang's.

Yang looks really good according to stats. But just looking at him move he looks like the love child of a 1980s Chinese robot and Andre the Giant.

Clearly both matter but I really wonder which matters most....

How a player pops while watching them?

I don't really know if Yang's CBA stats really mean anything. Or better said, I don't know if any of us have a good frame of reference for what good looks like there.

I'm the opposite though, where I do think his film is impressive. Specifically his rim protection and passing look to be NBA level skills that he can build off of.

Yang moves great, I dont know what you are watching. He needs to get in NBA shape, but he moves fine.

Been a bunch of mentions of how VJ and his camp envision him doing much more with the ball at the next level. Heard it from Givony and Lowe. Likely just PR, but I also wouldn’t want to pigeonholed into being a role player. Wonder if his camp would be happy with him in PHI? Lot of guards there already. Even if PHI doesn’t want VJ, I’d expect them to send out the message that they do. Wonder if CHO or another team will take the bait.

Ace is getting flak for doing it publicly, but I do wonder if he's not the only one who might have reservations about playing for PHI. Not exactly the best runway there.

Here's some discomforting into about the two Rutgers lads. Their team was sub .500 for the season and in conference. It's kind of like how Cody performed in his lone college season. They may both end up being All Stars This is a red flag.

Jalon Moore who played at Oklahoma tore his Achilles during a workout with the Spurs yesterday. He might be a guy to use a 2nd round pick on and keep on ice for a year. He's 6'7" 215 lbs and had decent numbers from three point land at OU. ESPN was projecting him as a second round pick.

Anyone else really like Danny Wolf's game? I wouldn't mind him at 21.

I never watched his games and highlights are misleading, but his talent for his size isn't. He reminds me of, dare I say, Doncic.

Im not sure what to make of Wolf. The fact that it's being reported he's killing workouts in terms of shooting the ball makes me think I should rank him higher, but I just dont believe in his "point forward" skills translating to the NBA.
