Collin Sexton traded to Charlotte Hornets for Jusuf Nurkic

Wow, I hate this so ****ing much. If we’re prepping for a Kessler trade, then just use Walker’s spot as an open slot for auditioning Oscar and (other) G-League guys.

I guess this helps the tank (nurkic averaged 18 minutes per game and sucked in those minutes last year and only played in 35 games so he might also be injured?) Yay?
Im gonna miss watching Sexton play. One of the few things I enjoyed while watching the jazz last year. Im 100% certain to not enjoy watching nurkic play. This better result in more losses. That is the only possible benefit of this trade

I’m a Bama guy and I like Sexton.

But…. We need a Nurkic so much more than a Sexton right now. We have so many small combo guards. I’ve never been a Nurkic fan, but the guy almost averaged a double double last year in less than 21 minutes a night. And if we do struggle this year, Nurkic might be a hot commodity at the deadline for a team desperate for a big man.

I can’t comprehend why we had to attach a 2nd rounder though…

He was recovering from a broken leg.

when you get rid of players with championship heart it doesnt help the team

Positives about the deal:

- Jazz made the team worse to help the tank again next year
- Hornets got better and they are one of the teams that could have been in the tank race
- Austin Ainge isn’t worried about winning every deal to the detriment of the team
So far, it is not looking like we are building the roster to win right now so I guess I’ll celebrate that. I simply cannot wrap my head around sending a pick to pay more money for a worse player, though.
