I don’t actually think owners are angry. I know reports say they are “furious” or whatever, but I think that’s all lip service. I think all teams are guilty to some extent. It’s like tampering. You will here about a team getting upset when they are the direct victim, but it still goes on nonetheless.

I think some owners may be furious... but not enough to really push the others. I think Silver is moving towards trying to make this go away but the one wrinkle in all of this is the Aspiration higher ups seem pissed... the ones talking to Pablo. They seem to be pointing him toward where the bodies are buried. Enough info may hit the public domain that make it impossible not to hit them somewhat hard. I don't think the death penalty of the Twolves penalty is on the table, but I do think the max fine, a first, and maybe a some cap restrictions or restitution to the other owners may end up being agreed upon.

I'm sure for every owner that is furious there is another owner like Cuban, that clearly has skeletons in their closet.

This one to me is more damning than the first report. There is a subsequent report that Ballmer invested another $10M later. The reason this is damning is the ignorance defense is now gone. There is no way they didn't know it was a sinking ship at that point. The "they conned me" defense is neutered here. The other thing is its clear the Aspiration employee on Pablo's pod is likely the CFO or close to that seat... for a number of reasons. That person is clearly pointing where the bodies are buried... and that person more than anyone who isn't the CEO or Clips management will know. Every time they point out a "burial site" the investigation now has to dig... right?

You telling me its a coincidence that this guy invests $2M and while the company is trying to stay afloat and laying off employees that the best use of those funds was to pay Kawhi so he isn't in default? Hmmmmm. I have dealt with companies in this position... they pay for only necessities and everything that isn't keeping the lights on is ignored. The employees were likely taking paycuts and watching the CEO direct payments to Kawhi and were like "eff this".

At very least this will make Silver look like a bumbling moron coward as the evidence mounts.

I think the fact that the Kawhi experience hasn't been all that great makes it less controversial.

I dont see this in any way as similar to tampering - which I agree they all do and there is no way to trace it. This is blatant disregard of the salary cap which is part of a union agreement. Any owner not blatantly cheating in this way would have to be furious. I guess if you believe every owner if cheating in a way that is this egregious than they would all smile and wink but I dont think that is the case.
