Even with the hindsight of knowing how good Murray has become, I still take keyonte over him if I could only choose one. Even if Murray was as young as keyonte.I'm not the first person to mention this name, but Jamal Murray is a pretty decent comparison for his caliber IMO. They aren't exactly the same, but they share that offensive versatility where they can thrive in multiple offensive roles. I also think that Murray is the same level of defender that Key can become. That isn't the most glowing endorsement, but there is a difference between that level and bottom percentile type of defender.
Jamal's career is a little weird where until this season he always started the regular season off slow but turned it on later in the year/playoffs. If he didn't have this weird seasonal pattern I'd think he'd already have a couple all star games under his belt and be adding onto that this year. I think that could be Key's eventually outcome. He's probably not going to be a sure thing, year in year out all star player. But if he keep improving he can definitely have multiple appearances.
Side note: One of the things we've seen a little bit more lately is Lauri playing as the offensive hub. I thought it went well. Lauri isn't exactly an iso scorer, but he can do some dribble handoff/passing stuff. I would like to build on that and have our own version of Dirk/Jet or Jokic/Murray. Those are some all time greats, but I still think Lauri and Key will be very hard to guard in that two man game.

Damn good comp though.
