Plenty of players have stayed here, wanted to be here, and stated so publicly, so that logic is not really great.

Deron left, Hayward left, boozer left, Mitchell wanted out and got traded. Ronnie Siekaly got traded here and out right just refused to come here which would’ve been a way better situation on a contending team

The only top level players that didn’t want to leave were Stockton and Malone who were just built different who wanted to play with each other and Gobert 30+ years later. Who are these other top players that wanted to stay?

Plenty of players sure. But all players are not created equally. How many star players with potential to carry a team to playoff success chose to come here or stay here at the peak of their career? Deron forced his way out. Mitchell made it clear he wanted out. I can think of 2: Gobert and Okur, besides our Big 3. So yeah, the logic holds as long as you accept the fact that there are indeed different tiers of players out there. It is tough to say how many top players we may have missed out on because they didn't want to come here, but my bet is the number is not zero. Another way to look at it is how many tier 1 or even tier 2 FAs have we signed outright in the past, say 30 years? 1? Boozer? I guess he chose to come here but was "quiet quitting" on the team long before he forced his way out. More than one besides that? Do you imagine it is completely a lack of trying, or just that in 30 years the timing never worked out?
Lauri, who the person we are discussing has said he wants to play with in the past.

Point is there’s a long history of top end players that didn’t want to play here after a time.
Point is people are different and some have including a player here who Giannis wants to play with. So what's the basis for Giannis not wanting to play here besides some other people haven't wanted to play here?
Thats probably why he wants to go to Knicks. People think its a big market thing but I think its the fact that Knicks won their last title in 1973 and if Giannis goes there and wins one he will become a legend.

Obviously. But the fact that he opened other doors means Giannis either cares about what Bucks get in return and/or that forcing his way to a destination sort of ruins "the stand-up guy" image. I think its both, and I think the "stand-up guy" is not just an act, its something he actually takes pride on.
Chances are low that we can land him and part of that is the team doing research to see if he is interested in landing here and staying. But its crazy people would say no to a current MVP level player who could lead us to a championship at the cost of some picks that likely dont turn out or even Ace. I like Ace but he isnt likely to get anywhere close to Giannis level. Giannis is arguably one of the greatest 2 way players of all time. He fits perfect with Lauri and we have some other solid players to put around him. Plus having him on the team will draw in some cheap good vets who want to win. He is not that old and is not fading for a few more years at least. He is arguably putting up some of his best stats of his career on a pretty bad team. Its his highest ortg, PER, OBPM, AST%, TS% and more this season.
We might not be able to offer enough, he might not be interested in being traded here, it might gut the team too much to trade for him, or other factors. But you have to try on this one. MVP level players in their prime do not get traded often or ever.
