Al Jefferson to Utah? ...Mark Stein's Twitter reports

If this happens we go from having Boozer who averaged .5 blocked shots per game to Jefferson averaged 1.3 last year. To put that in perspective Millsap averaged 1.2 last year. Getting an extra blocked shot per game is not going to hurt our defense. I can't say that I've scouted Jefferson to the point that I know everything about his game, but getting a guy that is easily 2 or 3 inches taller and I would assume has a larger wingspan than the guy we lost and he blocks more shots and rebounds at about the same rate, how can that not at least slightly improve your defense?

Hopefully we aren't really giving up 2 first round picks, although it's not like we do much with firsts anyway. Whatever though, I'll have the first Jefferson jersey available. A legit post player who is taller, younger, and cheaper than Booze? Stoked.

Well, Jefferson doesn't help very much with the program to lose 82 games next year and get a top 4 pick. And if we don't win the championship with him, we're a lot farther away from accomplishing absolutely nothing. So maybe you should remember what we're trying to do here.

Man makes a good point

Be prepared to take heat from chumps who think you should know everything about everyone. good luck and godspeed!

Al Tends to run into big guys more and from what i seen 25 points early this year against the lakers. Big thing on boozer is he had about 17 blocks maybe less against him against the lakers in the playoffs. Boozer did not use his body good against gasol.

I don't want to brag or anything, but it was I who made the first Al Jefferson thread recomendation, but unfortunatley it got locked by a "Real" mod.

Much like David Lee, being forced to play out of position doesn't make you a player of that position. Jefferson is not a C and is a terrible defender. He's everything everyone hates about Boozer but with a worse injury history and a uni-dimensional offensive game.
Are you sure about that comment?
It would help to do some research before you spout off and destroy your credibility. Jefferson has played in 83% of games over the last six years, Boozer played in 72%. Even if you include Boozer's 2 years in Chicago, that only brings him up to 78%.

Boozer, who everyone ssys is a "20/10" guy has actually hit that mark twice. He was pretty close last season at 19.5 points. In no other season has he averaged more than 18 pts.

Jefferson has also been a 20/10 player two times. He "slumped" to 17/9 last season. Carlos is slightly more efficient than Jefferson, with a career FG of 54% vs. 50% for Al.

Personally, I like the chances of Al putting up even BIGGER numbers in the PF-centric offense the Jazz run. And with the Jazz, at least on offense, the 4/5 is interchangeable just like the 2/3. So if Jefferson plays the "5" with Millsap or AK at the "4" he's going to get the same number of pick-and-rolls.

In fact, with Millsap being undersized and having a very good mod-range game, I like the thought of Al running the P&R with Millsap being the kick-out option or cleaning the glass.

GREAT MOVE. KOC!!!
