What's new

If Gordon would get tossed for fighting back, who is supposed to respond?

Jeffries out there backing his man up. That was pretty cool.

Nate Robinson is funny. It wasn't even a brawl until he runs over with his little man complex and starts swinging around his T-Rex arms. Smith then tries to tackle Robinson but Robinson holds his own and starts working Smith. Smith was probably like oh crap this is a strong little dude.

You could hear the Melo Punch loud probably because it was under the hoop where a mic is near.

Come on - Delonte's been stressed out lately and he doesn't have an outlet.... LeBron's Mom isn't in Dallas....

to the completely unnecessary 7 pages of discussion on this, my reply is simple: SCOREBOARD!

last time the mavs came to SLC, we were the team that lost our composure. and we lost. this time, the mavs lost their composure. and they lost. you wanna prove something? win the damn game.

this wasn't a fight. this was a notorious clown with a history of bad behavior and a well-documented bout with emotional/mental problems. he did something stupid and deserved to get T'd up, and if the jazz had responded inappropriately then they'd have allowed this idiot to get in THEIR heads instead of the other way around.

in the short term, it helped the jazz win to maintain their composure (hayward scored the next 5 jazz points in a 5-2 mini-run that extended the jazz's lead to 6)... and if anybody thinks it would have helped the jazz long-term, let me remind you that we are already down to 11 healthy bodies, so having guys get suspended would basically end the playoff push.

Strictly your opinion. It was necessary for us because we wished to discuss it. Ha!

hey guys,
I'm a Celtics fan from Boston. Just thought I'd register for your forum and remind you all that your team is soft and a bunch of sissys. Just like when KG punk'd big Al in Boston last month. Enjoy mediocrity....
You must have an amazing life.....The **** outta here, bitch.

I think what was actually said to him was Gordon Hay-werd ya blow me and then gave him a wet willy. You can see him suck his finger at 6:36

Yes, Hayward probably gets under players skin. Even if that is the case if someone puts his herpes infested finger in any orfice of my body its go time. I think this is clearly a pattern with Hayward getting punked and he doesnt react. And unless he stands up for his self its going to continue.

I bet the neighborhood kids just love you. (Kenwood is really your brother?)

oh chillax. i was clearly being facetious there. it's a discussion forum, for hell's sake, i understand that people are going to belabor things. my point is just that hayward responded with a 5-point spurt and the jazz responded with one of the defining wins of the season. i don't get why, on top of that, we have to engage in some macho bravato bullcrap that would only serve to get us emotionally off-task.

I think most of us agree that Hayward acted correctly. It is just disappointing to see that no one stuck up for him. I want the Jazz closer knit than that.

what, so that al or paul gets ejected for a shoving match instead of gordon? doesn't matter if it's gordon or one of his teammates, we needed to be the team that kept composure. we were.

also, i was there and i'm not sure anybody even realized what happened until well after. corbin saw it and pretty adamantly started pointing it out (if he had stormed the floor it probably would have been a double tech), but other than that it was hard to catch on the first go-around. and since they don't replay those sorts of things on the jumbotron (so as to not incite the crowd), the majority of the people there were trying to figure out what happened. i assume it was the same for a lot of the players. "wait, he did WHAT?!"

You are failing to see the difference in say, a hard pick, or a nice hard foul as they are going up for a basket and hitting the dude.
