I think I value Taylor higher too, as well. But at (reportedly) 6-7 and with better quickness than toughness, and the ability to guard down (SG) not up (PF), that would still leave somewhat more of an overlap than a complement to Hayward, I'd think.
I like everything about Jeff Taylor, except his sudden shooting surge as a senior, and that he's got T-Rex arms. The latter point in particular bothers me when considering that Hayward's arms are pretty short as well.
I think Miller is more of a sure thing since his shooting can't be chalked up as a fluke and definitely has at least respectable length. But I basically see choosing between the two as a crapshoot.
Sorry if this has already been talked about, but hoopshype.com is reporting that the Hornets are shopping the 10th pick, but whoever wants the pick has to either take on Ariza's or Okafor's contract. Is the 10th pick worth having if we have to take on one of those two players, and what would we have to give up? I'm thinking not much if they are wanting to dump salary.
Yeah, Lamb is an amazing shooter. He is kind of small though, and he's maybe not quite fundamentally developed enough (other than his tremendous shot) to play PG in the NBA at least for a while. I do think you could probably find a matchup that he could defend in most situations, but he's not very versatile defensively IMO.
He is decently quick, and his shooting cannot be overstated.
That's mostly fair, imo.
bbIQ - HAS IT, period.
Offense - as you said.
Defense - very solid, but certainly not elite (adequate? Yes.)
Not a whole lot of experience running point is a downside.
Not very athletic (I bet his vert is underwhelming).
I would take a serious look at Okafor and #10 ..
That's GST, TOR, CLE, NOH, and HOU all talking trading early picks (am I missing someone?).
Would they take Jefferson's expiring contrat for the pick+Okafor, or Bell and Harris for pick+Okafor?
I would become a happy person.
As for Jeff Taylor and his shooting surge if you look he improved every year it wasn't a surge. That tells me more of work ethic then a fluke. As for the long arms concerns me some he won't block a lot or get steals because of it but those stats can also create defensive problems. Taylor will be a lock down defender and be in position to rebound not out of position going for a block.
I would love okur and the #10. If they would take bell and Harris and maybe a future 1st I would jump at that. Then trade Jefferson and the gsw pick for iggy and wow jazz are deep and talented. Draft either lillard ar Marshall @ 10 trade up a little and get Taylor
Lillard, Watson, machado @ 47
Hayward, burks
Iggy, Taylor
Millsap, kanter, Evans
Favors, okafor, tomic
I like that line up. A little worried that kanter wont get as much playing time as needed but that is a championship team. Honestly
