Who would we want with the 5th pick? Who would you give up for that?
If you want Hayward as the SG, I would take Barnes. If you want Hayward as a SF, I would take Beal. I would take Robinson/Drummond/MKG in a heart beat if they fell and trade Al and maybe Millsap
I think Lilliard is a stretch here at 5. We need a passing PG for this team

While Kentucky coach John Calipari has had great success putting players into the NBA draft — and should have six more picked later this month — at least one NBA scout says perception is not always reality.
“The interesting thing, and its not a knock, but there is this Kentucky mystique that Calipari has done a great job creating and perpetuating. The best part about Kentucky’s system is that can hide so many flaws at first glance,” the scout, who asked not to be identified because his team could draft a UK player, said.

” MKG (Michael Kidd-Gilchrist)is a good defensive player, but he isn’t as good as people believe. Having (Anthony) Davis camped around the rim allowed players to play defense in a way which minimized their weaknesses,” the scout said.

“The threat of the lob made (Marquis) Teague out to be a better point guard than he really is,” the scout said.

PKM's head is gong to explode when he reads that.
Oh, and I agree with all of it. Has there been a Kentucky-Callipari bred All-Star yet? John Wall looks like a lot of hype and isn't really that good. Callipari's only great player thus far is Derrick Rose.

If you really like him and think he is good, he isn't a stretch at 5.
Blazers could easily draft him at 6, I think he is safe past Golden State at 7, but he then becomes very draftable by any team there on out.

Well, suffice it to say that I disagree with most of that ... and have heard NBA scouts/personnel RAVE that UK players are the best prepared, bar none. Now, it may be fair to say they're also, on average, younger than the players that come out of Duke/UNC, etc .. and that would be fair.
What I do agree with is that there does seem to be a 'Kentucky Effect' and the players are sometimes ranked higher than they would have been from a lesser known program .. just the same as Kansas, UNC, Duke, etc.
As far as Wall .. he hasn't even had a full 2nd year and came in as a one-and-done .. and even with that, who do you take in that draft before him? Turner? No. Williams? No. Cousins? Decent chance .. but that negates the argument.

He says tyler zeller is not really that good, its just that with John Henson playing along side him teams couldn't double zeller.
-Every team hides its players weaknesses even the jayhawks, and good teams create situations for players to succede with the skills they have.

This just in, we are talking about college prospects and college teams, not NBA teams.
I've always thought MKG was a bit overrated as a defender. Not to say he isn't a good defender, but I never really saw him really shut anyone down. I always though Davis's presence is what made everyone's defense look so good. I'm not convinced he will be a lockdown guy in the NBA.

I've come to the conclusion that I really would be happy with anyone in the first round outside of the North Carolina players; except for Marshall; Jared Sullinger,Teague,Nicholson and Moe Harkless and any foreign dude
I may be the only one but I really like buying a very late 1st round or early 2nd for Tony Wroten. He's got great size and reading his strengths on NBAdraft.com gets me giddy. If he improves his jump shot(Which he has to tremendously), I think he could be a very good PG in the league. I don't see any reason why his ceiling cant be Russell Westbrook
