Interesting article, can't say that I agree with it at all, but it is interesting.
NBA scout says Kentucky system hides flaws in players

While Kentucky coach John Calipari has had great success putting players into the NBA draft — and should have six more picked later this month — at least one NBA scout says perception is not always reality.
“The interesting thing, and its not a knock, but there is this Kentucky mystique that Calipari has done a great job creating and perpetuating. The best part about Kentucky’s system is that can hide so many flaws at first glance,” the scout, who asked not to be identified because his team could draft a UK player, said.
Like what?
” MKG (Michael Kidd-Gilchrist)is a good defensive player, but he isn’t as good as people believe. Having (Anthony) Davis camped around the rim allowed players to play defense in a way which minimized their weaknesses,” the scout said.
More?
“The threat of the lob made (Marquis) Teague out to be a better point guard than he really is,” the scout said.
But wait. There’s more.
“In reality, the Kentucky system is smoke and mirrors. I remember being out in Vegas for a Summer League and I was sitting and watching games with a long-time Director of Scouting in the league. He said he was stunned at how unprepared Kentucky players were for the NBA, and he had drafted one of them,” the scout said.
Guys that would get me jumping on draft day if we traded to get them:
Thomas Robinson- Drafting him would mean a 3 big rotation for the future or trading Kanter
Bradley Beal- Improved a TON late in the season, excellent rebounder, good defense, good court vision. I think he'll be a great shooter
Andre Drummond- Same as Robinson. If he gets motivated, he would be a steal after the #1st draft pick. Very risky but might be worth it
Perry Jones- I would love him around #14 or later. Same motivation as Andre and if he gets it figured out, he will be an All star. Big risk tho
Terrance Ross- Athletic, good shooter, good defender and he is a SF!
Tony Wroten/Quincy Miller- Would be thrilled if we got either with a late 1st or early 2nd round pick. Lot of potential here
Jeffrey Taylor- Outstanding defender and 3 point shooter and he's another SF
Guys that would get me saying I'm ok with this pick
Harrison Barnes- I think he'll be a lights out shooter and he is a SF, but everything else about him leaves me questioning
Terrance Jones- I think he'll be a solid pro. Actually wouldn't be a bad pick to be a stretch 4 and give room for Kanter or Favors
Jeremy Lamb- High risk/High reward pick but have a weird feeling he's going to be a bust
Dion Waiters- Would put him in the higher category if he would become a full time PG
Damian Lilliard- If he could become a more passing PG, he too would be in the high list. Great scorer and shooter
Kendall Marshall- Perfect for the Jazz. Although he would need shooters around him so this requires getting a scoring SF that can shoot
Myers Leonard- Huge potential as well and would provide a beastly athletic/huge potential front court with Favors. If he was black, I would be certain he would be a top 3 pick
Moultrie- Great rebounder and solid range, good compliment to our 2 young bigs
Fab Melo- Once again a potential pick. Very mobile for his size and great defender. Him and Favors together would instantly give the Jazz the best defensive big rotation
-Royce White- Do it all kind of guy but dont see a whole lot of potential
Guys that I could get convinced to be happy with the pick
-John Jenkins- Outstanding shooter but below average athlete with no defense (Morris Almond 2.0)
-Sullinger- Next Carlos Boozer, only thing is we don't need him
-MKG- Great at rebounding, excellent leader, good athlete, good finisher. However has a terrible shot(I would bet he improves with his work ethic) The Jazz need a SF that can shoot if they get a passing PG. However if they get a shooting PG, I would be pretty happy about this pick. Just don't see a whole lot of difference between him and Carroll
I disagree with so much that I wouldn't know where to start. I respect your opinion though, so props for laying out your thoughts on the draft.

The debate is settled. MKG will be great and I can prove it. How? Michael Jordan just said he's not sold on him.
I've come to the conclusion that I really would be happy with anyone in the first round outside of the North Carolina players; except for Marshall; Jared Sullinger,Teague,Nicholson and Moe Harkless and any foreign dude
I may be the only one but I really like buying a very late 1st round or early 2nd for Tony Wroten. He's got great size and reading his strengths on NBAdraft.com gets me giddy. If he improves his jump shot(Which he has to tremendously), I think he could be a very good PG in the league. I don't see any reason why his ceiling cant be Russell Westbrook

In group 1.
Robsinson, I agree.
Beal, cautious, but still agree.
Drummond, hate his work ethic/motor, but have to agree because of the ridiculous upside.
PJ3 - I like him, but I'm not jumping off my couch.
Terrence Ross - Puke, that is all .. mainly because he has insanely low IQ.
QMiller - see PJ3.
Wroten - No, train wreck.
JTaylor - I would love to have him .. but certainly not in the lottery.
2nd group -
Just about agree except no to Melo.
3rd group -
Jenkins - you're undervaluing his athleticism, reach, defense. Though we're not that far off.
Sullinger - I'd move him to group 2.
MKG - Just vastly underrating him when comparing to Carroll.
(Now that I've typed that out, we're not as far apart as I thought .. I guess the first scan I only saw the parts I hated, lol)
Also comparing MKG to Carroll is probably the dumbest thing I have ever read...so congratulations on that!
Davis, who has often drawn comparison to a young Kevin Garnett, was asked to list some frontcourt players he looks forward to playing against.
“Kevin Garnett and Dwight Howard … I’m kinda scared of KG, he’s kind of crazy.” Davis said.

Lillard's competition level still scares the crap out of me.
Yeah, but his numbers don't. He did some 3 on 3 at the Combine didn't he? If so, anyone know how he looked? It doesn't look like his stock has taken a hit from what I can tell.
