Do you BYU guys stop.....EVER

Nice try, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. I actually support the current BCS structure when compared to the days of 84. No team should be voted a NC by going undefeated in the WAC an then beating a 6-and-5 Michigan squad in the Holiday Bowl. Did the BCS bite Utah in the *** in 2004 and 2008? Sure it did, but it also insures no more sham national champions. Also, did Utah really deserve a chance to play for a NC just because they went unbeaten in the MWC? My answer is to that is no. The current system isn't perfect, but it's better than what we had, and hopefully the new BCS playoff format being discussed will go even further to improve the way a NC is decided.

Cool, you convinced me. I'm now a fan of 1 of the 2 Utah teams among a few hundred others nationwide with no shot at anything big after the first loss of every season. I can't wait for the 4th game failure this year!

Wrong again. Utah could lose all of it's OOC games each year and still qualify for the Rose Bowl not to mention some of the next level bowls such as the Holiday or Alamo (both much better than anything the MWC or Independence could offer). IMO, that still counts as having a shot at something "big" after their first loss. You're thinking of the other team when you talk about 1 loss automatically sending you to the Armed Forces or Poinsettia Bowl.

But who am I to say that? All of the kool-aid drinkers can't possibly be wrong. Independence is awesome baby!

No, you're wrong that my personal preferences are wrong to myself. Now go hike the hill to the #5 spot, then fall off eh.

Eh. Independence = Irrelevence.

They are doing enough to damage that program by themselves. This year is the first time they will play a big boy schedule, with six lose-able games (that number should be five, but BYU has struggled with the little guys from Logan, so that number is six, lol). We will see how well they do this year. Last year, they were 0-3 against real football teams.

With this schedule, how well does BYU have to do in your opinion to make themselves relevant/a successful "big boy"?

no losses = relevant nationally
1 loss (better be to a quality team) = relevant nationally
2 losses (better be to quality teams) = barely worth mentioning nationally
3-5 losses = completely irrelevant nationally but still relevant locally
6 or more losses = joke

You know I'm talking about recently....

Without looking anything up i come up with: Pitta, Collie, Beck, Hall, George, Nixon, kehl, and unga all being either drafted or at least in the nfl in some form. there probably some O-lineman that im forgetting and i think the tight end that caught the game winner against the utes a few years ago (the one who caught the pass on his knees from beck after the long sramble) made it into the nfl as well.
Plus brady poppinga was with green bay. Im probably missing a bunch of others but like i said that is just off the top of my head only thinking about it for about 10 seconds

That is pretty much correct i would say. Im a BYU fan and i even think independence sucks.

They have to win a couple of BCS games. It has been since 1996 since BYU has really made a loud thunder in the college football world. They have a storied past, but I wonder if the commitment is there anymore to win it all. The more I hear from BYU and Bronco, the more I think they they are ok with 10 win seasons, but only playing three real teams, and losing all three games. I don't know if Bronco and the players are willing to put in the time and work it takes to consistently beat good teams.

The standard is BCS games. The only problem is, that window is closing fast. If they move to a plus one format, BYU is screwed. Even if BYU goes undefeated, do you think they would be picked over a one loss USC and LSU team, who had just played and won conference championship games, then won the Rose/Champions Bowl vs a B1G/Big12 team?

A four team playoff might be just as hard because of the conference championship games.

Hey Utah gets a nationally televised game this year on ESPN thanks to BYU. Glad to help little bro out whenver possible.
