Jazz-Bulls-GS Trade rumor

God, I hate this at first simply because of Biedrins contract. But to get two 1sts this year, and the Bulls 1st next year which could be lotto bound (no Rose, no Deng) is adding a lot of assets for just Harris and swallowing Biedrins. I'd have to strongly consider this if I'm KOC.

Where's Rose? Is there an injury I'm not aware of?

I don't mind not having a 1st-rounder. The Jazz need guys who can step in and play NOW. Utah already has a couple of development players in Kanter and Burks, plus a very inconsistent player in Hayward. And Favors, although he should be a starter, still can disappear some games.

I'd rather have KOC bring in some solid veterans. But that doesn't mean players like Bell, J. Howard, etc. If a trade for Jefferson, Harris or even Millsap is made, I want KOC to get a starter in return, not just mid to late picks in the draft where you perhaps get a player like a Ronnie Brewer (who would take a couple of years to develop) or worst case another Snyder or Humphries.

No, I don't have specifics, but there are always teams looking to go with a youth movement, especially as they draft in the lottery and need to clear out veterans to make room for the young guys. But I hope the Biedrins rumor is completely false. His game is completely gone. It would be a huge salary dump on the part of the W's. Jazz need to get a lot more than that.

Agreed, I think I just have the mind set that the Jazz have always had a 1st round pick; but forgot some of the ****ty players we picked in the late 1st round.

Is it required for NBA players to lack effort and commitment? It didn't used to be like this, or were we just lucky to have John and Karl for so long?

isn't that what usually happens right before that team in question ships that player to that other team in question?

No. They didn't promise not to trade him, just that there is no way a deal is happening to GS.

The poster of the trade (ralphb07) said that it could possibly be Richard Jefferson instead of Biedrins. Which would make more sense.

Jefferson shoots over 40 percent from the 3. Overpaid for sure but would be better than Miles or Josh Howard. 2 years left at 9 Million. Than add in the draft picks. Who knows maybe trade Millsap or Jefferson to get into the lottery with all the draft picks we would have.

In this hypothetical I'd see it as a good thing as it would force KOC's hand in having to move Jefferson.

Also, I don't know what Biedrens' contract is but I think it would make sense for us financially -- we'll need some salary next year, and while in theory we can sign two max guys and another high salary guy, in reality this is unlikely. We'll need salary, but we won't want to lock it up long term. Since Biedrens would only have another year left on his deal, it would work out well with timing in when we're going to have to start giving some guys extensions -- an effective salary bridge, if you will.

This.

Beeds contract isn't that bad now that he's burned a couple years off. $9mm for two years won't hurt the Jazz FA opportunities next summer. They could still let everyone walk and offer 2 max contracts or absorb from rebuilders.

What would a package including #29, 30, Bulls 2013 first, GSW protected pick, Jazz 2014 first fetch? (and Jefferson/Harris/Millsap if they want)

5 late first round picks for Rondo? Too much or too little?

Allows the Celts to completely rebuild .. allows the Jazz to add the most important missing piece. Add a shooter and done.

Chubby right?

Tough to sell rebuilding around late firsts though. The GSW pick is the only one with much potential. Bulls pick could be a jackpot pick but that's doubtful. They should continue to win outside bottom 10 even without Rose. I think the Jazz have to add value by moving a pick into the lottery somehow.

hypothetical built upon hypotheticals...

I would cream.

I feel like we could trade Al to them, they'd love Sulllinger to work on his post moves against him.

Maybe package the 29th and Bell (and whatever) for the 18th or something.

18th pick, Charlotte Pick, Golden State Pick, and Jefferson for Rondo.

They can draft Kendall Marshal with the 18th.

Celtics would have 18, 21, 22, 30 picks in the draft. Plus a 51st pick in the second round projected to pick Machado. Not to mention charlotte and Golden state picks next year. Honestly, they'd be stupid not to jump on this deal.

Marshall/Machado
Bradley
Green/Jeff Taylor/(maybe draft Quincy Miller with their 21)
White (if Quincy isn't drafted)
Sullinger/Big Al.

Rondo
Burks/Hayward
Hayward/Rich Jefferson
Favors/Millsap
Kanter

Rumors that Deng is not being traded. Yahoo and ESPN is reporting that now.

What about this trade.

We get the 7th pick in the draft (Draft Lillard)
https://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7yjccay

Harris - Lillard - Tinsley
Hayward - Burks
Wright - Carroll
Favors - Kanter
Jefferson - Kanter - Biedrins

Obvious why Golden State would
Millsap is expiring and better than Iggy already and younger

My only hesitation is Philly might want more. Do we include draft picks? 2nd round enough?

They're already paying Elton Brand over $18mm unless he opts out for some stupid reason.

Even though they are..... would they turn down a better talent for Iggy? If Brand only has 1 year left why can't he come off the bench? He isn't really effective anymore right? Whether they have Millsap or not does it make sense to start Brand just because he makes 18 million?

I wouldnt trade Millsap for the 7th pick. Big Al hell yes

I would seriously consider it depending on who is still on the board at 7.

Jefferson is not going to get us into the lottery. Not going to happen.

Millsap can for sure. He also wants extension and I don't think we want to give a 27 year old undersized PF a 5 year contract. Especially now that we have Kanter developing.

Millsap is injury prone. Does he play through injuries? Yes but he disappears when he gets injured. We can't pay people based on effort and toughness. His injuries will increase as he gets closer to 30.
