when tanjevic (or nearly any national team coach other than spain and the USA) is lucky, he has maybe 3-5 NBA-calber guys on his roster.

when an NBA coach has a HORRIBLE team, he still has 10-12 NBA-calber guys on his roster.

so it's easy to see how this guy could believe that kanter is a basketball god and must just be used incorrectly here in the USA. we've heard similar things from the guys who coached AK, giri, lopez, memo... the reality is that when your teammates are among the best 400 ballers in the world, you kind of have to earn the respect.

(and remember, i have historically supported all 4 of those guys i just mentioned... it's just the way it is. giri was top dog with the croatian team, and here, he was a middle of the pack guy and therefore had the burden of proof to show why he belonged on the floor more than others at his position.)

Yes, completely agree. It's entirely possible this guy is both a very good coach and astute judge of talent as well as off-base in how he judges an individual player's role/progress in the NBA.

Turkish-to-English translation: I've never watched Corbin coach or seen a single game of Kanter in the NBA, but Corbin sucks & I'm a God trapped inside a Turkish body.

Gosh, you're simply humiliating yourself!

He doesn't know heck about Corbin yet he gave his opinion. The ironing is delicious.

How do you know he doesn't know anything? From the article it seems clear that he at least watched Jazz.

Yeah, he's won a bunch of minor league titles. Corbin actually coaches a team that is part of the highest level of professional basketball on the planet, and in a league that is far superior to the Turkish basketball or Yugoslav basketball league.

It would be like bagging on an Premiership coach for not winning anything and then touting a guy from Major League Soccer about all his coaching glories.

I find it hard to believe I'm defending Corbin since I'm not even a huge fan of his yet, but him receiving smack from some guy who's never had anything to do with the NBA and who is hurt about Kanter not playing in Turkey is just irritating.

Wow you have got no credential at all.

.

It's all about the competition. A coach may have less talent on a team in a league with equal talent and that means more competitiveness. Put that coach on Premier League team and he will have more talent on his team. So judging a coach by the talent he has and the talent in the league is just plain meaningless.

Yeah, he's won a bunch of minor league titles. .

So winning gold in European championship twice or silver in FIFA world championship is minor league? Thanks, you just confirmed what an idiot you are.

I am waiting for Corbin titles... tick tock tick tock...

Not really. The greater talents are usually harder to coach. If judging on talent was just plain meaningless that means you could take any Middle School coach and put him in the NBA as long as he was good at coaching Middle School.

Compared to the NBA it's absolutely minor league. It isn't close in terms of talent, and especially the years he won them. Though keep on believing they are comparable. The most prestigious thing there he didn't even win, he placed second in.

Of course I don't. I'm a basketball fan like most people here, nothing more, nothing less.

The difference is that great coaches, or anyone great at their profession, rises to the highest level of their profession. This guy has never sniffed the NBA, which is the highest level. Corbin has.

Though I agree with you, I don't think many NBA teams have given International coaches a legitimate chance to acquire NBA jobs.

You just missed a point I said in a league with equal talent. You just put an extreme example there. Coaches do assistant job to learn coaching I am not sure those middle school teacher gets coaching lessons. Of course It's harder to coach better talent but It's also easier to make them shine.

wow, you just keep making fool of yourself. I suggest you look where mighty USA with best NBA players ended in FIFA World championship in 2006 and 2002. Both Eurochampionship and World championship is full of NBA players, calling it minor just shows you are arrogant/indulgent dumbass.

so Corbin's losing record in NBA is better then numerous international titles Tanjevic won? Lol, give me Jazz team to coach, I may not have better record then Corbin but still would get few wins... would that make be better coach then Tanjevic? NBA history is full of poor coaches who achieved nothing... so what that they sniffed NBA - that does not mean they are good coaches.
Just ridiculous logic or lack of it actually...

NBA is the highest level but not the only level. Not all guys want to play or coach in NBA. What if Corbin has? Does that mean anything? Did he do anything other than being assistant before becoming a coach?
