Remember in 2011 draft when Kanter refused to come to work out in Salt Lake? We went to them in Chicago, and with a few moves that Kanter puts on Ty, we were sold and we got him. There were also question marks as he didn't play for a whole year when he was at UK.

We could have played it safe and went with the likes of Brandon Knight or Kemba Walker who took their teams to the NCAA finals, but no, we went with Kanter.

I would expect Isaiah Austin, Kentavius Caldwell-Pope and Schroeder to move up once workouts start. McCollum will do well in workouts when he shows he's healthy, in shape and reminds people how he can shoot the ball. I don't think there's any real difference between picking a guy at 14 or picking him at 17 - 20 if that's the guy you really want.

I agree with this statement. Though at the time I wanted Brandon Knight so so so much more than I wanted Kanter. Also I would have loved Kemba Walker at #12, because #3 was just too high for him.

McCollum will rise, I agree. I think Schroder will be projected to go like in the 15, 16, 17 range so the Jazz might have to draft him at #14 if they want him, so basically I just re-said who you said.

The thing is that the talent in this draft is relatively flat throughout the 10 - 25 range, so it would make sense that teams pick for positional needs. If you need a PG, you can take Schroeder and not lose sleep over passing on a guy like Olynyk, Dieng or Goodwin.

I will give you props for Keresev. I liked what I saw from him. He has a very diverse and different skill set ala Ginobili.

Like I said in another post, if the Jazz entered July with both Schroe and Sergey I will feel like the draft was a success.
