George is better and the Jazz did eff that one up too. Buttt. Hayward is pretty good too, so its not so bad. I'd like to have them both.
I do find it annoying how the Jazz think. I wanted George in that draft and so did a lot of other people. Its gotta make ya wonder what the hell were they thinking..

I promise you Paul George would NOT be who he is today if he was coached by Tyronne Corbin and in the non wing centric Jazz system, like The Fresh Prince just said, whatever that is these days.
Not really. George had his question marks just like anyone else drafted at the #10 position. I do agree that he's the better player now, but he's also playing with the better team and playing for a much, much, much superior head coach.
If George were on the Jazz there is no way he'd get 40+ minutes a game, and scrubs like Marvin Williams would be stealing his minutes for some bizarre unknown reason.

Everyone shut up about the Jazz making a mistake on draft night. So did the other teams that drafted ahead of the Jazz. Hindsight bitches.
If we want to complain that we drafted a dud that is fine. But Hayward is a good player even though Corbin won't let the offense run through him. Which we wasted 3 years of development not letting him practice that.
1 - Wizards - John Wall
2 - Philly - Evan Turner
3 - New Jersey - Derrick Favors
4 - Wolves - Wesley Johnson
5 - Kings - DeMarcus Cousins
6 - Golden State Warriors - Ekpe Udoh
7 - Detroit Pistons - Greg Monroe
8 - Los Angeles Clippers - Al-Farouq Aminu
I would take Hayward over all of these wing players and most of the big men also. We could of wasted a pick on Wesley Johnson or Aminu.
I wouldn't be surprised if Hayward is the better player long term. If you look at Haywards stats per 36 compared to Paul George who played 37 minutes a game it is not a big difference.

steals - Paul George wins

Now this is Gordon Hayward playing with Mo Williams and Al Jefferson who just jack ups shots. They actually play team ball on the Pacers. They run the offense through him. And everyone seems to be unselfish on the team. And better defenders to set up the offense.
Everyone here is going to be eating crow next year when he gets the same minutes and Favors and Kanter are manning the paint, making offensive transitions easier for Hayward and Burks because the defensive stops will be there.
Put things in perspective please.

Amen to that. Every draft has this player who is way better than expected that so many teams missed on. Paul is that guy right now. If he were drafted 15, would we be freaking out? Probably not as much, but just because the Jazz were one pick ahead we freak out. And besides, as has been pointed out, Paul is not that much better per 36.
What is Hayward? He is a good shooter, he is an elite transition defensive player, he embarrassed Kobe defensively last year, he has been assigned to guard a point guard a time or two because our point couldn't handle it, and oh, by the way, he is a better playmaker than our point guard. He is one of the most complete players that I know of, so what's stopping him from becoming a superstar?
