So it appears Watson is at least our primary b/u PG, with Price as a combo-guard used against smaller backcourt opponents. We'll see if that continues.
Raja Bell started, but his minutes decreased vs OKC with CJ spending most of the game at SG and doing very well. Notably, until benches were emptied late, CJ was the SG of choice. This allowed the Jazz to keep Kirilenko and his defensive prowess at SF on the floor longer with CJ's hot shooting at SG. Hayward's minutes shrunk too. The OKC game was played at an almost frantic pace; tough for a rookie to contribute much. CJ's versatility is a huge asset; if his offense is on, his defensive liabilities at SG become a lesser issue.
Millsap, already well conditioned before this season, appears to be both stronger and quicker, and his basketball skills are noticeably improved. It's gonna be hard to move him to the bench when Okur returns to move Jefferson to PF. We may end up bringing Okur off the bench the whole season at C and keep Jefferson as our starting C. And Elson appears to be the primary b/u at PF, with Evans getting limited minutes there too. Elson seems to be sharing the b/u minutes at C with Fesenko. Fes appears a little more timid out there in the regular season, like he's not quite sure of what he's doing. He still seems to lose his focus when he knows his minutes will be limited.
C'mon, Fes, get your head in the game!
