What's new

Who will be the next head coach of the Utah Jazz?

Iguodala shooting 48% on almost 5 tries per game through 5games this season. Simply a question of having a passing guard for him.

Yeah, thats a big factor. You can see how their offense stagnating when Curry is not playing. Spurs game was an example for that. Also playing along side Curry and Thompson giving him more uncontested looks. Curry and Thompson drawing way more attention than him at the perimeter. Especially at Philly game they picked their poison and dared him to shoot the three ball but that didnt turn out so well for them and he made 7 threes. Let's see if he can keep this shooting form up though.

I think they played extremely well vs the Spurs. I mean they played w/o a PG, but with a point foward and some Toney Douglas. But the difference is if his shot is prepared or if it's off the bounce. Give it to him when he's open, and he's money. Josh Smith for example I wouldn't want him to shoot it too often even when he's always open.

Not happy with Ty either. But to me the bigger problem by far is who owns this team and the attitudes that they currently have. LHM to me was almost the perfect owner in many ways. However we are all familiar with the success rate of sons who take over any kind of business enterprise when the head man is gone. He has convinced me he is in the same mode as the rest of the sons. Why with the PG situations being what they are last season and now again this season were the Jazz apparently unwilling to spend any money bringing in someone who even might be an NBA point guard. This and other situations have convinced me that the problems with the Jazz are coming from the top. I have been expecting a collapse of the team ever since. The facts are the "core 4" have at least met expectations this year but the remainder of this roster belongs in the D-league or someplace like Taiwan. Example!!! If we had any other owner in the league how long would Ty last? Yet i expect those saying we are stuck with Ty are all too correct. Greg Miller is a glorified bean counter in my opinion.

I've had a little bit of direct experience with Greg Miller and it leads me to believe that your opinion of him is way off.

Regarding the point guard problem, I think that exists specifically because Greg is on board with the tanking strategy. I don't think Larry could have ever done that no matter how obvious the need became. I applaud the front office for their current strategy, even though it's going to result in a very difficult year. Hopefully we get lucky in the lottery and a couple of years from now we'll be praising Lindsay and Greg Miller for doing what had to be done.

Time will tell Joe. "A little bit of direct experience" doesn't make me feel that you know the man any better than anyone else. I could be wrong here i admit. We have some competent people on the Jazz staff and my hope is that will keep the teams direction sensible. Spending money on scoreboards does not convince me he knows what he is doing. He may feel that this is the way to keep fans coming through the door with open pocketbooks. I don't think that will work at all if the team fails badly for any length of time on the floor. My fear is that "rebuilding/retooling" can become a chronic condition very easily. It seems to me that Miller enterprises has gone stagnant. The mind that directed things and innovated in many areas is gone and the biggest changes that have happened since is the moving of a dealerships location. It would take time for the business to go down the drain but i believe it will. Again, i could be wrong but that's the way it looks to me.

Larry was more concerned with making money than winning a title. He said so himself.

Greg is at least giving the Jazz a shot at a title.

Did you see Parker and Randle last night? Wow.

I don't applaud this at all. Especially if they are going to charge full price for tickets and NBA LP. This is ****ty basketball. And they want us to pay to watch this?

I know I didn't. Evergreen Tree Online University brought their basketball team to Utah for the first time ever last night. I wasn't missing that for anything.

Nice. Close game. Nail biter, I heard. Those cute little gooey-ducks.

We all agree the tank is the right direction. However, we at least need to have the young guys learning under a coach who can teach them something and who will be able to grow with them and lead them to a future championship. We can still tank and get a top 5 pick if we dump Corbin. In fact, I think it is absolutely imperative that we get rid of him ASAP! I guess we could wait a little longer to ensure that top 5 pick, but not too much longer.

Corbin's gone. It's just a matter of time.

I can't see it being a "big" name, though (unless we land Wiggins or Parker, and the job is immediately much more desirable.)

I could see it being a "Utah" guy, meaning just somebody with direct ties to the franchise or region. I bet Stockton's name will swirl (not happening). I bet Krystkowiak's name is mentioned as well.

I don't know SA's coaching staff well, but I wouldn't be stunned to Lindsey dip into the Poppovich coaching tree to tab his guy.

It'll be great to watch this unfold. I'm excited.
