I'd be okay with parting ways 2/3 of the way through the season... then establish Lowe or someone as the interim coach for 10 games or so before hiring Hollins to close out the season over a bumpy transition period.
Will Corbin be fired?
I mean, at some point ya gotta make a change, right?
How many more blowouts must we suffer before a change is made?
corbin is in the game for a reason and this season he's not going anywhere or until allstar break for sure
besides, to attract a good coach you have to offer something, and right now the jazz can offer a team who plays 4 on 5
The Jazz did not choose Corbin over Hornacek. Corbin was already the coach before Jeff decided he wanted to coach full time. Jeff wasn't considered because he wanted to spend time with his family. It was just poor timing. Those other deals were internet rumors. If Millsap deal was on the table then I would be most upset about that non move especially when it became apparent that Millsap wasn't part of the future.
The Raps starting 4 is Amir Johnson, arguably their best all-around player. Right now he's better than Favors. Jazz have to hope Dwayne Casey goes irrationally small (likely), allowing Kanter to go to work, and that Rudy Gay and DeMar DeRozan miss the loads of pull up 20-footers their bound to take (also likely).
Raps 88
Jazz 76
A lot of posters seem to be falling back on two explanations of the poor results so far this season: The Jazz are playing 4 on 5 (Tinsley and JLIII at the 1) and the bench sucks. Unfortunately, right now the jazz can offer a team who plays 4 on 5
Yeah. Gut the roster, and then tell Corbin to make chicken salad out of chicken ****. That's fair.
Also, look at rumored deals the Jazz passed on.
Harden for Kanter.
Bledsoe for Millsap.
Corbin for Horny. We could have had this lineup:
Bledsoe
Harden
Hayward
Favors
Yikes. We HAD better walk away with a 5+ time All-Star. Like Deron as the floor of how good this player will be.
A lot of posters seem to be falling back on two explanations of the poor results so far this season: The Jazz are playing 4 on 5 (Tinsley and JLIII at the 1) and the bench sucks. Unfortunately,
1. The Jazz were 20-12 in the games Tinsley started last season.
2. Jazz +/- per 48 minutes
Team: -11.2
RJ: -21.9
Gordo: -19.3
Favs: -16.8
Tinsley: -15.7
Kanter: -13.1
Tinsley/Gordo/RJ/Favs/Kanter lineup: -29.0
The bench has been bad, the starters have been terrible. The poor play of the starters can not all be blamed on Jamaal Tinsley/JLIII. Our young players aren't nearly as good as some thought they were. It's unlikely any of them become better players than Al or Millsap.
