Julius Randle measured 6' 7.75 in socks, 6-9 in socks. 7' 0" wingspan. 250 pounds. 8' 9.5" standing reach. Solid, but not elite.

... elite for a SF though.

Zach LaVine bounce is BANANAS!!

Smart move by Zach LaVine to participate. His freakish athleticism & outside shooting ability really stands out in this setting. #NBACombine

Zach LaVine's stock will be on the rise after this #NBADraftCombine #UCLA

Watching Zach LaVine effortlessly spring off the floor is a sight to behold. Plays above the rim so easily. Jumper looks clean as well.

Funny how people think Aaron Gordon is a lock to play SF in the NBA, while Randle is pegged solidly at PF.

They have pretty much the same measurements. I would argue they have almost the same handle. While Gordon can't shoot or even score, Randle has shown the ability to take guys off the dribble and hit that mid-range, as well as make plays running the floor with ball in hand.

This draft is tiny compared to the last one. Its strength is definitely at the wings and combo forwards.

Some years I swear they measure differently. I bet we see some massive verticals to go along with shorter standing reaches.

Average measurements for PFs drafted in the 1st round:

Sample SizeAvg Height w/o ShoesAverage WingspanAverage Standing Reach
986' 6.40"7' 1.3"8' 10.8"

Average measurements for PFs drafted top-15:

Sample SizeAvg Height w/o ShoesAverage WingspanAverage Standing Reach
696' 5.84"7' 1.4"8' 10.9

I think Exum could rise after this. Randle will fall and Vonleh and Smart will go before home. McDermott is really small, he'll fall quite a bit. Reminds me of jimmer confused about SF and PF.

Marcus Smart measured 6'2" and 227.2 lbs at #NBACombine. He's the heaviest player at 6' 2" or shorter in NBA Combine history.

@chadfordinsider: KJ McDaniels measured 6' 4.5" in socks. 6' 6" in shoes. 6' 11.25" wing. 8' 6" standing reach. 195 lbs.

I like this guy at 23.

Yes, because the reason we like Gordon at SF is because of his offensive skills... People see Gordon as a potential shut down defender, and to have that at the SF position is a huge advantage. With Randle, the advantage comes on offense. If he gets a bigger and slower defender, he takes them outside. If he gets a smaller defender, he can post them up. If Randle is playing SF, then he will have smaller players defending him, and you can't have 3 players in the post, the only option would be to have a stretch 4. In that case, the defense will adjust and defend Randle with their 4, and the stretch 4 with their SF.

Some initial measurement (height, weight, wingspan, reach) comparables using DX's database:

Marcus Smart: Eric Gordon
Aaron Gordon: Scottie Pippen, Kyle Singler, Luke Babbitt
Noah Vonleh: Greg Smith, Ronny Turiaf, Robert Whaley, Darius Songaila (though Vonleh's wingspan beats all players ever measured at 6'8" (socks))
Julius Randle: Carl Landry, Jared Sullinger, Markieff Morris, Udonis Haslam, David Lee, Kevin Love
