Ya those 40 point games are very detrimental to the team. His absence from last year's playoffs proved that the Thunder are better without him.
Of all the people without brains, you are probably the dumbest one.
ah, the short sighted one. of course westbrook will give you a great game when he is hot. when things go right he will look like a legit top 3 player in the league. he is that talented. but when things go wrong, you can see there is no synergy between KD and westbrook. turnovers, impatience, too many ISO balls. that's not a championship basketball. can westbrook drop 40 every game like MJ and totally take over? maybe he can. westbrook has been the better player than KD in this series. but you will see too many hero balls where he pads he stats, but doesn't make anyone around him better. he is a shooting guard playing the point. he is MJ packed in 6ft 2 ish frame.
This is a team game. from historical point of view, it's better to have 1 dominant scorer. there is only 1 ball and 5 others on the court. when i watch thunder, they can look atrocious time to time. too many ISOs, no ball movement. go ahead and rewatch 2012 against the heat. that was not pretty basketball. westbrook was awesome. what happens thunder beats spurs, but loses to Heat? all hell will break loose. it will be 2012 all over again. there will be a tension. westbrook will give you good, bad, and the ugly. people will scratch their heads and question why westbrook took more shots than the KD.
if they don't win a ring within next 3 years, there will be a nasty divorce between kd/westbrook. if they stick around together then it means they figured out how to play each other and finally came through together.
if thunder don't win it all this year, presti should make that tough decision. if i can trade westbrook for another top 10 PG + low post scorer + bench, i would do it. KD is my star. he is the face of the franchise. and i'll build a right team around him.
put your GM hat on for once. you will be enlightened.
