let me chime in and troll some.
I hate MMA.
It's a violent sport.
MMA skillset is efficient yeah sure, but MMA as a sport is just foolish!
BJJ or judo on the other hand...

This makes no sense at all.

To be an MMA competitor on any level, you have to learn BJJ and Judo. Just because you add another element to it (strikes), it all of a sudden becomes dumb? That the BJJ and Judo that you've learned is somehow not valid or acceptable now? Silly.

I get that people don't like MMA, and I really don't care if they like it or not and am fine with whatever their reasons are, but what you're saying just doesn't make sense.

he does not care if he has a gameplan or not. so yeah if he beats belfort i am not opposed to him getting a TS. i think others are more deserving kenedy, jacare, rockhold (might have forgotten another one).

Butch, I feel other people are deserving as well. I don't think you'll hear me say that Sonnen is not talented because he is. And like you said, he is always ready to go. But I want to see a competitive fight and currently he's being outclassed by the greats regardless of his "ready to go" ability.

Your Jazz reference is laughable and makes me want to write, "Get the **** out." So I did.

NO, he does not. He does not deserve a chance at the title just because he steps in at a moments notice. We disagree on this. That said, if he does beat Vitor, sure he should get another chance. I doubt he will beat Vitor though...well, I guess what matters is what mind frame Belfort has going in. Dude is weak mentally.

Anyway, I also find it interesting that you dislike fighters that show off in the ring but like Sonnen who talks so much **** out of the ring and doesn't always back it up.

doesnt always bakc it up?
beginning of his carreer his weakness was getting subbed.

since then he fought arguably 2 of top 3 goat(silva and jones). and lost to an ex champion at a higher weightclass.

he backs it up!!!!

Do you remember the all the trout he was talking before the Silva/ Sonnen II match? And then again before the Evans fight?

Anyway, I dont understand your position that just because a guy steps into the ring to fight and subsequently lose, he deserves another chance. So if Sonnen was 0-10 after fighting Bisping, Silva, Jones, etc. does he deserve a title shot?

barkley, ewing, malone, stockton, payton, et al. all are bad? cus they lost to jordan (and phil)


in combat sports you gotta do 2 things promote yourself. and truly believe you will win.
sonnen was just doing those 2.
cant fault him for that.

1.dominating silva for 4 and a half rounds then gets submitted.
2.doing a stupid spinning backfist then slipping landing in an akward position on ground.
3. if he just held out till the end of the first round vs jones. he would have been champ by tko toe injury. jold ouot 27 seconds and he would be champion(albeit a short rein as a rematch would be 6 months later

ok 2nd one doenst really count

so yeah, dont matter to me what he does outside the ring. it is fight promotoion marketing and building confidence he needs.

0-10 ofcourse nobody deserve title shot. but by beating the top contender and (2nd place fighter of year 2013 he does deserve it)

just saying that he stepping in the ring 3 times with arguably the 2 greatest ever.


and noted that first and last fight could have ended in his favor
