What's new

Enes Kanter Appreciation Thread.

Memo came to the NBA as a 23 year old player and Millsap was averaging like 8 and 5 with 22 years of Age. Kanter will develop into a nice player...

I like how turning the ball over on back to back possessions with two defensive lapses mixed in now counts as good defense by Kanter.

Let's get excited that he hasn't completely sucked by getting spoon fed buckets by the wings.

Kanter did it the right way. Set the bar super low to start so everything else going forward seems great.

I still think he's our best PF. He needs to learn the plays, learn to pass and keep the ball moving, but he's pretty fluid and not entirely stupid for a guy that size. His reactions really aren't slower than Favors'. It's just that Favors has better length. Kanter's the guy that's hard to keep off the offensive glass if someone else on the team can collapse the defense. He'll look much better if the Jazz ever get an alpha player who can achieve that.

Plus, Kanter might actually be able to stretch the floor if he keeps working on his jumper.

I've always liked Kanter and hated how he has always been the scapegoat it seems. I get that he isnt as good as we'd hoped, but he's been playing much better recently. I was at the OKC game and you could see him playing with some fire while everyone else was coasting. His defense has improved, although its not great. He has a soft jumper too. Snyder's screamer sparked the Jazz comeback against OKC but Kanter was the player that really helped close the gap in the closing minutes of the 1st half. Be patient and good things will happen with him

I'm a Kanter homer like many here. But one thing I am not, is a homer with blinders on. IMHO Kanter is a defensive liability. I hate to say it cause I love his offensive game. But when he is playing, and teams run that high pnr, we are getting killed by the other teams PGs cause Kanter is too slow to rotate. And it's killing us. But Kanter isn't the only one. So not all blame should go to him. But his D does leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Snyder risks to undermine Kanter confidence as did his predecessor last season.

By the way he is playing less minutes under Snyder.

At this point I'd almost rather see Kanter be the man off the bench with Exum and Gobert.

Let's face it, the bench needs some scoring, desperately.

Remember the end of last season where he said he was upset he didn't get as many minutes as he wanted, Kanter most likely upset. However sadly, he isn't playing 3rd pick in the draft level basketball.

I feel like guys like Burks and Kanter would get more freedom to do what they're good at against other teams' second units. Gobert can cover Kanter's back defensively. That said, I'm not sure Booker's production, defense or rebounding warrant starting him.

I think he'll be exposed fairly quickly. Kanter is the best option at PF for this team.
