What's new

Game Thread: Utah v Sactown. Game in progress.

I don't care what anyone says. Hayward can be a #1 option. . .
I said it a few months ago.
We may not need a star-go-to-#1-option-player. We may already have that.

Hayward is a baller.
Mid range game on point
Three point game on point
Iso on point
Off ball spot up on point
Getting to the line
Finishing through contract
Passing, unselfish, glue guy
Rebounding
On ball defense
Transition offense and defense
That step back fadeaway will be one if the deadliest weapons in the league.

Dude is a star in any offense in any system no matter the teammates surrounding him.

This is partly due to how damn good he is. He made some shots tonight that were just outrageous.

That midrange lunge and stepback is just straight up money. I am surprised every time that doesn't go in. His body control at the rim is as good as there is in the NBA right now thanks to the extra bulk he put on.

It's not a disagreement, but can we not move on? It's just annoying to hear people still rag on the dude. Beating a dead horse.
I see your point but we are playing against him tonight so it's expected.

How often do we talk about Corbin on here normally?. (When we are not playing against him and he is not in the news)

Maybe a couple of posts per month?

Unguardable! I can't remember seeing anyone do the move to such a degree, that is, he creates so much space and his body control and balance are just unreal!

Corbin sucks ***. He's clearly one of the worst coaches ing he league.

Are the Kings the 96 Bulls? Nah. But they do have some talent. And Corbin clearly has no idea how to maximize that talent.

Just look at their offense... No system whatsoever.

If he can play like he has been playing lately, then we have ourselves that guy for sure.

Lol that the Kivgs fans crying about or Favors of Cousins thread can't see that he's a crybaby. Spends so much time moaning and complaining that he doesn't play.

How many times did our bigs beat him down the floor for that very reason? 10? 15? Pathetic. His head will never be in it and for that Id never want him. Despite his immense talent. He's not a winner.

Systems require lengthy and rigorous adjustment period through many MANY practice sessions. It also requires the players to build trust in the coach and buy into what he's doing. I think Corbin was a poor fit for the Jazz, and I was very happy to have gotten rid of him. But blaming Kings' troubles on him in simply ridiculous. Corbin could do nothing with the disaster he inherited.

AI was pretty good with that move. I'm not sure he was as efficient with it, though.

To be fair, they are fans and are probably not rational. A majority of them probably wouldn't swap Gay for Hayward.

Anyone notice Hayward's numbers the last 5 games?

24.4 pts
53% fg
50% 3pt
.792 FT
6.2 rebs.
4.2 ast.
1.2 stl

...and only 2 TOs

He's playing near an All Star level.
Near?

Sure, a system does take some time.

Did Corbin ever really have an offensive system in his 3+ years in Utah? I remember the same lame *** excuses when he took over after Jerry. "Just give him time! Let him out in his system!"

The system was never put into place... In fact, the only system I saw was 5 guys playing jungle ball. It was essentially the same offense we saw tonight. Very few back screens, no cutting, etc. compare that with what Snyder has done in just 1 year! He has put into place a far more effective system in just one year than Corbin did in 3+. Corbin also had Better talent. Just look at what Big Al and the Atlanta Jazz are doing!

I'd like to see him be more comfortable on the catch and shoot, and adding that little floater like they are teaching Exum would be nice to, just to save his body a little more wear and tear at the rim, but I am nit-picking.
