WTF happened to rap?

Keith Richards ( Rollings Stones ) said it very well : “Rap is for tone deaf people.” He added: “What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there. All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another."

There is no musical talent. Sorry, but it is true. You can call it talent to talk fast or whatever but strictly musically there is nothing.
Did you know that some rap creates their own music? Like plays the instruments and such? Of course you didn't.

Check out gym class heroes. That are one of my favorites. They play guitar and drum and that stuff that you love.

Just curious. Do you think that techno has musical talent. Or DJ's?

I know I always go to 71 year old heroin junkies for modern musical opinions. I'm sure Richards has heard 5 rap songs his entire life, probably while flipping through radio stations.

Song writing is a talent. A voice is an instrument.

Otherwise the lead singers if many many bands that MVP probably likes have no talent and suck.

Yeah, I can kind of be an elitist when it comes to music.

I just don't think MVP would like them. I dont think he is going to like any rap music. He's set in his ways and probably old af. IIRC gym class heroes is more pop rap and MVP probably dislikes most modern pop as well. If MVP would like anything, it would have to be something heavier/darker.

Maybe MVP will like this one. Its a white guy and about saving money.

Why does it matter white or black. This "song" had 4 notes and two rhythm changes. BTW one of my favorite musicians are black - Tosin Abasi, Victor Wooten, StevIe Wonder, etc.
In this little video there is more music than in all rap history.

Just teasing you. Its not a great song, but its funny.

There is plenty of music, talent, and great vocals in rap. If you want to claim otherwise, thats okay. You are just wrong. The fact that you think all rap is just talking shows you are a not knowledgeable on this.

Said by no racist, anywhere. Case closed.[/sarcasm]

If a claim of racism is real, own up to it and try to change. If it is mistaken, ignore it and know that you are better. This sort of defensiveness won't convince anyone.

Fair enough. I'm sorry for being a douche
