Paschall traded to the Jazz

FWIW, I think Paschall is more redundant with Juwan Morgan as a 4/5 than Brantley as a 3/4. Brantley is more versatile guarding wings and guards on switches.

That doesn't mean the Jazz are keeping Brantley necessarily.

I love Brantley's potential, but Paschall is already so far ahead. And he is buddies with Don. And he can play stretch 5.

This was a brilliant deal. I love it.

Makes me like the Whiteside deal less, but thats okay

I think the Whiteside deal has to be through a connection with Dwayne Wade. I don't think the Jazz make that deal unless DWade recommends it.

lol. cut the crap with the Brantley comp already. The dude couldn't even figure out the summer league and is on edge of getting released. Might sound a bit harsh to Brantley fans but he just isn't a NBA player.
Bruh they gave him a QO. You know that means he has a pretty good chance, right?

He's an NBA defender. His offensive role is in question though. It's probably more limited going forward than what he showed in the G-league.

QO can be rescinded. Nothing is official until a new deal is sign. Even then they can still cut him. Chance is there for him. But he gotta do more in upcoming SL games to convince the Jazz that he belongs here.

Brantley has been on a playoff team(no. 1 seed in the NBA one of those years), while Paschall has been playing on a lottery team that got no. 2 pick one of those years. Brantley's advanced numbers are better and the raw numbers per minute/possession are comparable.

Yeah....getting buckets on a garbage tanking team is not really establishing yourself as an NBA player. The Warriors were a competitive team last year and if Paschall was an effective player they were dying to have him. He wasn't...that's why they benched him and dumped him this summer.

Brantley vs Paschall is someone who has proved nothing but also never given a chance (probably for a reason) versus someone whose had every opportunity but failed to capitalize.

Really just comes down to personal preference but both are fighting for their careers. One has the advantage of being Mitchell's best friend.

Yeah, but they did it for a reason. He can defend and he's a great locker room guy.

The Jazz are quietly getting a super deep team that's also going to have potential to trade for a future disgruntled super star. Interesting.

guys here cried about losing Niang who averaged 16min a game for us in the regular season then completely disappeared in playoffs.

Paschall is not an effective player, got benched and salary dumped in the summer...... yet he averaged 17min per game on a Warriors team trying to be competitive last season.

look, we are not asking Paschall to play a major role in the rotation. he is brought in to be our 9th or 10th man and even if we cut Paschall's last seasons minutes in half, that is still more minutes than Jarrell Brantley has ever handled since entering this league.

they did it before bringing in three more rotation guys who are getting minutes ahead of him, and they might not be done with FA yet.
Yeah dude, that's why you bring the guy back because he's a great locker room guy. He's going to be at the very end of the bench.

Here’s my interpretation. The additions of Butler and Paschall will allow us to load manage. They won’t be primary rotation pieces (unless Butler is just a star) and will be “substitute” rotation pieces for when we load manage Conley and Gay respectively.

ideally you want your end of bench guys to be the ones who figured out SL or G league, not NBA ready yet but possess great potential to become one of your rotation pieces one day. "great in the locker room" is nice to have, but should never be the reason to keep guys around.

He can defend. He looks bad in SL because he's being given the ball too much in the half-court where he has to make a play. He's worth keeping around cuz he's cheap and a good dude.

that's why i said "ideally". Hopefully he figures something out and if Jazz fail to bring in a better project like Tyler Bey, then sure, keep him around for one more year. I doubt he gets any meaningful PT though.

Butler is a combo guard who can see some minutes at the 2. I have high hopes for Forrest and would love to see some Forrest/Butler backcourt combo in those garbage/management minutes.

Paschall was benched and completely removed from the rotation....I don't know what to tell you. The Warriors were playing important, competitive games and he they made the decision that he was not good enough to play minutes. This wasn't a deep team, it was a team dying for rotation players and he couldn't make it on the floor even with Oubre and Wiseman injured.

I also never said Paschall was going to play a major role. I said the opposite, implying that the expectation should be that he's an end of the bench player. I also never said Brantley is proven. Once again, literally said the opposite and said he has done nothing in this league.

Warriors moved Paschall because they just drafted Kuminga to take his role. Paschall is still a young player. It might be worth asking him to play a bit in LV Summer League.
