In all fairness, he sought a medical exemption because he had already cought Covid a month ago. That's too soon to get vaccinated or boostered - you're supposed to wait at least 6 weeks.
That being said... completely disagree with him and the fact that he wasn't vaccinated to begin with. So yes... you are correct. What. The. Hell. Novak.

We're a country with rules and laws, they're not hidden, its a condition of entry. If you don't follow the law there are consequences, you can't pick and choose which ones you like. I hope the ****er gets deported.

2019 he would have been perfectly OK person. I guess, that even having HIV (i do not know the spefic rules about IITF whether HIV complicates anything or not) would not have been a blocking factor? Now a non-vaccinated healthy athlete is considered more dangerous than some vaccinated drug addict, somebody driving a car while little bit of drunk etc etc.
Obviously, Australia is an independent country and can and should make the rules the voters desire.

I am not disputing the statement "our country, our laws". Just the general witch-hunter-style-hysteria even among those who claim to believe science.
If it is for me dangerous to shake hands and have dinner together etc etc with Djokovic according to Australian scientists and medical specialists, then why do we wonder why there are some many snakeoil and magic crystal ball believers all over the world?

Being unvaccinated djokovic should not be allowed into a restaurant, but you can do whatever you want at home.
We've gone through a hell of a long lickdown, people in business, myself included have lost a lot of money, vaccination and following rules around mask wearing and so on are the way out of this ****.

On a different note, it seems that the Rose Bowl was the super spreader event that has made Utah’s case counts go absolutely nuts.
So many people that went have contracted COVID.
Looks like my fears and reasons for not going played out the way I thought they might - though I feel like it’s just a matter of time before I catch Omicron. <sigh>

? How is it being entitled if you do not have COVID vaccine? I know that crime rate in Australia is kind of low, but isn't it a waste of police resources to chase Djokovic instead of potential drug dealers, gang members etc etc.Of course i know that last 2 years have been a hell for australian citizens and in Estonia the restrictions have been much milder but still IMHO overblown on some stuff. However, it is just another example of the phenomen "elections have consequences".
It is not like some kind of aliens have enforced those restrictions - it is your own fellow countrymen. Like in Europe.
The politician which got my vote in 2019 parliament elections was in the government 2019-2020; since 2021 his party has been in opposition. Sadly, his rhetoric has gone worse (to snatch some extra votes in future).
For me it is more like trust issue; i am pretty sure when planning travel to whichever country i try to chose those which are accessible by car because even in Europe the government decide something on day 1 and then something else on day 2.
For example, should Japan (the country i would really like to visit again) ease all the restrictions tomorrow i would probably wait at least 6 months to buy any tickets and probably the travel itself would be quite nervewrecking compared to 2019 May, when i also visited Japan.
I just find it sad, that even the government officials in Australia are trying to be in the same level as those in the worst period of Soviet Union, communist eastern-bloc or China i.e finding artificial stuff to blame somebody what he/she has not done.
