2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Id guess Edey or none

Possibly, would explain why he was so *** this year

Every draft since like forever has had at least 3 all-stars. So none would be WILD.
And I would say at some point there will be a draft with none or maybe just one as making the all-star team is a higher bar than it used to be. It would make this draft literally the worst historically. But some draft has to be the worst... so possible.

@Saint Cy of JFC I'd be curious to see what a synergy deep dive on Knecht's shooting and scoring look like. Seems like he has a million ways to get it and when I watch highlights I keep thinking that literally all the stuff he does on offense translates or will be enhanced by a spaced nba floor.

Looks bigger and more athletic than Bogdon (maybe pre-injuries). If that is what he is does that equate to an efficient 20-25 ppg at its peak? Lots of gravity and the on ball stuff looks really intriguing too. The knock is that he is old and is a bad defender... I get that but I think he is the winner of the "this guy is obviously good at basketball and it will translate well and you will feel dumb for not having him higher" award.

Ill look later today or tomorrow.

I feel like he could have Glen Rice type of upside offensively.

that little slight hesitation dribble he has where he could pull up or go right past you and dunk (or finish with either hand) seems absolutely devastating if he hits the pullup three a lot. Seems like a good one foot quick jumper. Then he doesn't seem like really big until he gets big at the rim. He may measure out close to what Bogdon would (international so not sure we got official measurements) but he just seems like he gets big on his rim dunks and finishes. Curious what you see when you look at it. Think I may have to move him to #2 on my board.

If the knocks are as simple as he's 23 and he sucks on defense... and that causes him to be around at 8-9... that's a homerun.

The thing I like about Knecht is that this isn't just a one off year, he was putting up huge numbers last year in a bad conference, then he goes to the SEC and gets even better.

The think I don't like about Knecht is his defense.

Blind comparisons are kinda dumb, but I thought this one was interesting.

One of these players is 3.5 years older than the other.

Call me an optimist but I like to look at defensive "potential" vs. productivity in projecting D ability, particularly for high-volume scorers in college who spend so much energy on that side of the floor.

My expectation is that every rookie, save 5-6 guys every draft, will come into the NBA and generally suck defensively. So long as they have the physical tools to get there and understand if they don't guard they won't play I'm not too worried. He's long, rangy, athletic enough and plays really hard. I'm not too worried.

Guys like Reed Sheppard scare me more. I know what the defensive metrics say but his size, physique, and length are spooky guarding top end NBA guards.

He may look quite a bit like Peyton Pritchard on that end. Sheppard has better anticipation, but Pritchard really motors.

Knetcht looked a almost like Doncic on the court on offense, but without some of the dad bod. If that carries over to the NBA, he would be great for us.
