The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I think Bobby Marks said that he wouldn't be surprised if the Knicks picked up Fournier's option just to keep their team salary high and for future trades. Collins might be a better fit for them though. I would definitely pay Hartenstein $20M+ over Collins.

Hartenstein would give us that elusive player that can both be a defensive anchor and offensive hub in the middle of the floor as a passer.
But then they did the Detroit deal and I think Bogey is that placeholder.

The Suns just fired Frank Vogul. Their top assistant was considered to be one of the top assistants in the league and a contender for an NBA head coach vacancy before he was recently hired to be the head coach at BYU. I wonder if he will regret not staying a little longer since he might have been the favorite for the job.

They gonna hire Bud. His name was mentioned in the firing tweet.

The Beal deal will forever serve as a case study on how one trade kills an entire franchise.
Uhhh, the KD deal is the much much harder pill to swallow for them.

Even if they never did the Beal deal, it's not like they would have a ton of assets to upgrade. They paid too much for KD without having a team ready to compete.

I heard he was free, though.
This was one of those like the Udoka draft night where I felt like I knew exactly how it would play out and why it was bad. This one not nearly as catastrophic but all those people that were like "cap space.... what are we going to do with that lol... our cap space doesn't matter" are likely to see the first part of the free cost for the first time... and I can't wait for them to freak out a bit.

And yet we’re being paid $0 for this level of analysis. Foresight was 20/20.

They needed a competent PG but blew their load on Beal. They are not as far behind as people thought. After all, they avoided the play-in despite not being healthy for most of the regular season and was only swept by the title-bound Twolves. I mean Wolves are on course to sweep the Nuggets, which makes the Suns look better as well. Just not sure how they would get themselves out of this Beal mess now.

Who was available for what they paid for Beal?

Am I insane for thinking the Wolves would wax the Celtics in a hypothetical Finals matchup?

I'm more afraid of OKC than Boston for them.
Boston is so bipolar. I think Ant is the difference but I could see that being a 7 game series. OKC is just a smart team and seem more consistent.

Maybe Cleveland pulls a Heat and beats Boston inexplicably.

Donovan is much more impressive when he gets his team involved and let's others use their talents. He then turned it on and put this game out of reach.

Same. Okc is scary. They’ve got shooters, super athletic guards, and length. They do lack experience. I think whoever comes out of the west will wax the Celtics.

That's exactly the point. Tonight Don was superstar level;, play smart , not taking all shoot. They show why they get the second best defense in regular season as well. Nice to see. For Boston, i still think they have many individuals talents but are not that good collectively. Opposite with Minny on that point.
