I have just been looking at Kon's and Jase's stats recently. Maybe that's why I am disappointed.

Aren't both Lamelo and Fears pure on ball guard types? Or can Lamelo do off ball stuff, I am not overly familiar with the Hornets. I suppose Lamelo gets injured pretty often.

Its a fair argument that I can't debate too much on. I don't like the idea of undercutting guys who have developed/performed well the year before. Something about showing loyalty to the guys you draft. The shooting with Fears is the stretch that I hope works out but I am not sure. Is Collier...

Fair enough, some things can't be described through purely stats and I don't have the ability to articulate it any better. Fears isn't a guy you can look at the numbers and be all that impressed by. Perhaps I am wrong on this and Fears is just Collier. Think you are losing some nuance but who knows.

Yea, it is what it is.

Fears has much better shooting form and shooting indicators than Collier. Fear's elite qualities are his ball handling, getting to any spot he wants on the court and his aggression going to the basket. Fears is also great in the midrange. Collier is a bit more of a North/South guard who uses his...

According to Barlowe, the Hornets are looking at Fears and believe he might be able to play with Lamelo; I'm not gonna lie, that sounds crazy.

    Game Thread 2025 NBA Draft - June 25th & 26th, 2025 - 6PM MT

Kon is great and would be a great pick. I hope we get one of Fears/Kon. Would be a little disappointed with Tre/Ace. Would be confused but intrigued with Maluach.

Fears gets to the rim at a massively higher rate than Tre, also draws tons of fouls, turning shots he would make at the rim into Free Throws which don't get reflected in the rim%. Fears has great shooting indicators from everywhere except off the dribble 3s. He just took a ton of off dribble...

What are you talking about? The only thing Tre does better is shoot 3s. Fears is better at getting to the rim, drawing fouls, playmaking, rebounding, getting steals, dribbling. He also is a more efficient scorer and also carried a team in the SEC. Tre is subpar at everything except making 3s and...

    2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Beal has 2 years left for 110 million. Feels like lighting money on fire but the #10 pick would be nice.

That is usually how it is with new management. They want to put their stamp on things. Walker trade incoming along with drafting Maluach.

This is where the numbers and the eye test diverged for me. The numbers say he is extremely efficient in the half court with lots of self creation. What I see is that it looks really difficult for him sometimes. Its disconcerting as things usually line up better for me when I watch guys. Makes...

The skillset is more well rounded but there is no special quality that's going to push him over the top or give him an edge vs. other creator types. Unless you see the well roundedness as a unique quality. I would say his best quality is his vision but the TO rate is sky high as well.
  15. Basketball Novice

    Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Going by advanced stats, he is actually a decent defender. His wingspan isn't great but its decent at 6'6" comparable to Fears at 6'5.3" and Kas at 6'7.8". The shooting is lights out at 62% TS and it seems he was underutilized at Michigan State. If this guy can bring 95% (or even more...) of...

Hmmmm, he does have craft to make something out of some of the drives he does. Sometimes, I think he uses his step back 3 as a crutch when he doesn't have the ability to get past guys. One possession sticks in my mind where Queen got switched on to him and he couldn't create any advantage...

I know exactly what you mean. For him, everything looks very difficult. Using everything in him, his dribbling and craft, he just barely gets by. There is this sense that when the margin closes in the NBA, he just won't be able to get by.

Think his bad start soured alot of people on him, me included. I probably need to go back and watch his recent games to see how he looks. He just seemed very similar to Collier.

He might be one of those guys who are underutilized in college and pop in the NBA. 62% TS and not a bad defender for his size. I think he is an option at 21.

To switch gears and talk about the 21st pick, what are yalls thoughts on Jase Richardson? I think we brought him in for a workout.
