2014 Draft Combine

I give credit of any draft related opinions I've ever had to peeks.

Except for measurements which are all from Fabtrademe.

Yikes. Peeks is at fault with your whole Trey-hate fiasco?

fish - is there any other player in the draft who has the offensive ability of Parker? I think 3-10 are pretty equal. I think Parker and Wiggins are better than the rest.

There are 10 All Stars in this draft. There are 2 10 time All Stars. Maybe three, depending on Embiid's health.

More Marcus Smart: In addition to being 6'3" 230, Smart benched 185, 19 times - 3rd overall (behind Jarnell Stokes and Patrick Young who are both monsters at PF/C) and highest ever for a PG. From a purely physical standpoint, it's not out of line at all to call Smart the guard version of LBJ. One of the most impressive things about the strong bench number is that exceptionally long armed guys generally have a harder time with the bench.

More like Marcus Smart is the small guard version of Tyreke Evans.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Perhaps you're talking about their game or the type of NBA player he will become. If you read my post again, you'll see that I was referring specifically to the their physical characteristics. From a physical standpoint, Smart is on another level than Evans.

You might be right.

I just feel like parker has lots to like (offensive skills, diverse offensive game, smarts, character, mormon ticket selling money maker, size, able to play two positions) but also has a HUGE defensive weaknesses and a decent sized red flag in terms of his weight.

Same with gordon, randle, exum, smart, vonleh..... lots to like combined with some red flags.

If embiid never had health issue then i think he (along with wiggins) would be the complete package and it would be a tough choice at the number 1 pick.

Doubts have just begun to creep into my thoughts in regards to jabari.
I would still probably take him second though. But like i said.... i might trade back and just snag who i thought was best available out of gordon, exum, randle, vonleh, smart and add anothe lotto pick in this deep of a draft.

There very well could be a another multiple time all star sitting around that 12-14 range

Just curious.... how many reps did patrick young throw up?

Dude is a beast muscle wise

Also..... maybe jabari will be highly thought of enough that we could trade the #2 pick for the 4th or 5th and another lotto pick without giving up #23.

Then we would have a top 5 pick, another one in the 12-14 range, and 23.

Thats alot of assets

Kevin Durrant couldn't do one rep on the bench press. The bench press is nice to brag about but it doesn't really mean much when it comes to playing basketball. Yes Smart is an excellent athlete but I have yet to see any great SG at 6'3" who are average shooters become superstars. Now if he can become a PG then I think his strength can be used as a weapon but I have my doubts that he is a PG.
