not sure if we have money for both him *and* Favors though.
The question might be if we're more comfortable with JJ and Trey Lyles being our PFs of the future, or Dante being our PG of the future.
Right now I think my money's on Dante. Trey has just been a dumpster-fire this season. It's too bad, because in theory Trey's offensive game as a stretch/playmaking 4 complements Rudy's so well.
I look at it like;
-roster moves should be used like combinations in boxing.. I'm guessing Malone and Stockton were described as a 1-2 punch many times over, right? I guess thats why I see flexibility on some of the **** rosters, even the hopeless nets TBH... There's almost like a magic cards style element to the game and most sports imo.. conditions can change real quick given different combo's.. Fans tend to focus on the individual these combinations are much more fascinating to me. It's not some ******** abstract ideas, all the championship teams have prominent combo's..
-moves should always be made with a 1-4 year outlook unless it's time to "go for it".
-When "going for it" nears you fill in the salary up to the cap with UFA's.. that to me is sort of like the Jab, the right UFA for the right team can truly do wonders whether it's fixing a weak link or adding something totally new... I think the Jazz have been balking at this, it's like a fighter that takes damage angling to get inside instead of just working off the Jab
-surpass the cap by re-signing the RFA's... These are the power shots, the haymakers that leave you vulnerable but ultimately have the best chance to help you seize power quickly.

-draft picks are varying degrees of digging for alpha assets.. this is like doing body work, (setting up the KO) you stick around and long enough and really get those shots no matter what other damage is being done (****ty coaching/signings) there's still this undeniable attrition being built from it.
-they've already secured many fliers on PG's and a possible PF rotation guy. The homework has been done here, no doubt the mistakes that get made by the FO are ones that have been overthought, i'm not saying it's a competency issue.
-I don't give a damn about fiscal responsibility when it's time to go for it. That to me is weak as **** and very far from efficiency.. the idea is to position yourself to win the championship and use every advantage possible to do so.. Like Mike Tyson's thought process when he bit Holyfield.. this is really where I get hung up on this years team, to me when I see that team salary, I see a roster thats been watered down for the sake of fiscal responsibility -- I hate that I look at this like some great hunt..
