We don't do a good job of shopping our expirings at the deadline because we fall in love with our rosters and we don't like risking continuity just because an expiring is valuable. I wish that wasn't the case, but its just not our way.

The last few years the FO has valued team chemistry almost above everything and thus is oftentimes reluctant to move/cut good locker room guys (except Diaw who was basically washed). However, with the accelerated development of DM our timeline has changed and I can see us being a bit more aggressive with our expirings to acquire better talent who also fits our culture

I haven’t read the thread, but does cap space work in a way that we could sign that max free agent, and then re-sign our own guy (Rubio) up to the luxury tax limit?
