This year I plan on being at every game the Jazz are in town to play the Clips or the LA-bron Fakers. In jerseys if I can mortgage my car or something to buy them. Freaking $100+ is a joke.

I kind of think the LA Brons are being overrated? Better than the Jazz? Doubtful. The Jazz are a better balanced team overall, have better depth, and better coaching. I have a ton of respect for LBJ, but if he wanted to get back to the finals, he should have signed with Philly. The Lakers are a team that looks primed to implode if someone strikes the match. And Lavar Ball is grinning flicking his zippo.

Rubio could be absolutely necessary or expendable depending on how Exum develops. If both Exum and Rubio are doing great, one of them would be an excellent trade piece in a package for the “third piece.”

I also still think Exum, Rubio, or Favors could be the third piece. If that happens, great! If not, we have a lot of flexibility to make moves.

My ideal would be keeping all of those guys and bringing in Tobias Harris for the expirings and pick(s) at the deadline and then a good MLE signing during the summer to round out our championship squad.

Get ready for a boring during season... I think we believe in Favs. I'm not sure we go out kicking a lot of tires unless things go badly. If something awesome shows up at our doorstep we might take it, but I don't think we are actively looking at a major addition.
 
I think we are keeping this same team for 2 years. We should trade Burks for some bad contract that expires in 2020 and pick up some future 1st in the process. That future first could be key in going after a trade in the future to build around Donovan.

Why not trade Burks and our 2019 pick for a vet at the deadline instead of taking on a bad contract? A good player is much more valuable than a pick in the 20's.

Depending on draft class quality, we could do that. Utah has 2 future 2nds coming their way plus the Cleveland swap. The 2021 San An pick could pick up some value if they dish Kawhi.
 
If we love our team as much as we say we do and the guys are as close as they seem to be, we will keep the main people here the next two years.

So trade Burks in one of the deals below, get a 1st or swap multiple 1st rounders.

For Dellie (2 years $9.6 per)

For Courtney Lee (2 years $12.5 per)

For Marvin Williams (2 years $14 per)

For Mahinmi (2 years $16 per) - I would ask for Brown and a pick swap.

Get an asset while we can instead of waiting for other teams to get into trade mode. Its easier to make a trade before season than during the season especially considering our close locker room. The asset gained from this type deal can be used if we go after somebody in the future. Its maximizing our assets.

Why do you keep coming up with scenarios that are the opposite of what the jazz are trying to do.
 
I'm just throwing ideas out there because I don't believe we are changing the roster much the next two years. I don't think we are players in 2019 free agency. Lastly, I think we need another asset if we do try to pull off a trade for a player who improves the team.

This will all become obvious when we extend or re-sign Rubio and match on Favors' deal next July. At that point, we won't have cap space to sign anybody substantial and we are going to wish we had another asset.
