Baton Rouge Police Killing a 37-year-old black man at point blank range

Where are you getting information that his license plate matched one from the robbery? The only thing about a license plate match I can find is about whether an audio of the police saying they were going to pull the car over matched the car. That was in an effort to prove the audio was valid. Nothing to do with a license plate from the robbery.

Here's one instance of the license plate information directly from the Snopes report that you posted.
Although the KARE report noted that the audio was provided by a viewer and had not been authenticated by officials, the license plate number mentioned in the audio did match Castile's car, and an alert had been issued about an armed robbery that occurred a few days before the shooting.

I know whose alt you are to because I am not stupid an plus I am a world class hacker. I know where you live where you work an all your other 33 accounts.

An yes I knew you were trolling playing opposite side like Cy but I was the captain driving that ship Mr Gumshoe. Pat yerself on the back harder. I will play caricature of Joe Bagadonuts an Dr. Jones next.
Wrong on all counts.

I read the conservative treehouse report. There are so many half truths in it or things designed to manipulate the reader I can't trust any information they put for because it's clear they aren't concerned with proper reporting and just feeding their readership base.
I was completely unfamiliar with the site before this exchange, but in this case the relevant information appears to be authentic. Do you have any indication (other than not liking the source) that it isn't?

Read it again babe. I said they are harbouring a environment of hate conducive to violence an rioting. There is no doubt on that front. I blame the media for creating these mass murdering monsters by glorifying them. I blame the people who jump to conclusions for fostering violence.

Then again, I am a adult an I speculate most posters on a sports forum are teens. They are prone to jump to conclusions an pass the buck.

I think there's miscommunication on all sides of most hot button topics. I think it's fair to assume the better in others unless you actually know the contrary. It's speculation about what even Obama and Hillary intend to produce with their remarks in support of or justifying, say the BLM movement. I think the BLM is the work of mercenary agitators seeking to push an Agenda that has no actual caring for Black Lives. If they cared for Black folk, they would not inflame the issue and induce hotheads to do stunts like riots. What the purpose is can only be understood in terms of revamped "Marxist" strategies for gaining leverage on a people or a nation. You promote the division, the hate, and then you "solve" it with your political tools. . . . more government, always

If you care about people you teach them non-violent tactics, like Gandhi or MLK. You win your case with higher moral principles. You win friends and gain respect.

Agreed... these police offers being killed sort of lessen the impact of the 2 black deaths somewhat and the issue is now muddied with no clear outcome or solution.

So i tried to upload an picture from the washington post showing the statistics for police shooting so far this year but i am unable to load it.
Anywho... There were 509 police shootings that resulted in civilian deaths from the start of this year up until july.
484 were male. 25 female. 238 were white. 123 were black. 79 hispanic. 46 unknown. 23 other race. 282 of the victims had a gun on them. 88 had knife. 35 were in a vehicle as their "weapon". 22 had a toy weapon. 35 were unarmed. 27 unknown. 20 other. 385 showed no signs or had history of mental illness. 124 of them did.

So the most common person shot by a policeman is a white male with no mental problems carrying a gun.

I found that to be interesting.

So almost 25% of people shot by cops are black despite blacks only being 13% of thee population. Whites account for 77% of the population, non-hispanic whites 66%. Whichever way you look at it the 46% of police shootings that happen to whites is far less than their share of the population.

Oh my god, where do some of you get your "facts"?
"...black people commit a huge amount of the crimes compared to whites..."
"..blacks are about 10 times more likely to commit murder than whites..."
(yes, in this category, they are arrested a bit more frequently, but it's closer to a 1-1 ratio than anything)

Here's a link to a chart from the FBI on arrest statistics by race
(for 2013, most recent available I guess)
https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2013/crime-in-the-u.s.-2013/tables/table-43

It shows that of all arrests for all crimes, approx. 69% are white and 28% are black and 3% other
(Hispanic is not listed as a race but as an ethnicity, if you go to the link and scroll to the left, it shows that approximately 16.6% are Hispanic/Latino and 83.4% are non-Hispanic/non-Latino. )
The image above breaks it down by type of crime.

Here's a link to the overview for all the statistical tables (they're also by geographical area, by population density and other categories):

also note:

The US population is about 62% white, 12% black, 18% Hispanic, 6% Asian, 1% Native Amer., 2% 2 or more races

Trends by race are detailed starting at page 11

According to the US Department of Justice, blacks accounted for 52.5% of homicide offenders from 1980 to 2008, with whites 45.3% and "Other" 2.2%. The offending rate for blacks was almost 8 times higher than whites, and the victim rate 6 times higher

I can find you the same statistics from the FBI if you want.

Yep. I was the first one to point this out. (The population disparity)

Kind of weird that I have not seen any media coverage about any white, Hispanic, Asian or any other race getting shot by police. No protests or rallys for any other races.
From media coverage you would think that black people are the ONLY people that get shot or abused by police.

I also never hear any media coverage about how there are not enough mexican, asian, Polynesian coaches.
I never really see any other race besides black people talking about inequality.... There has to be native Americans and mexican Americans that are not being treated as equals and are upset about it too right?
I wonder why there is little to no media coverage about them?

Good point

You may have pointed it out but you still missed the point.

I didn't miss the point at all. I totally understand that blacks get ****ed with by the cops at a higher rate than whites. This seems obvious.
I was just surprised at how many whites get shot and killed by police since I never hear about those deaths.

You're right. I was going by raw numbers without considering what percent of the total population each group represents. I don't recall how the post I was replying to was worded, if it was an absolute or relative number. My stats assume it referenced an absolute number.

Thanks for the clarification.
