This isn't a surprise. For over a year we've been playing to go into the future without Boozer anyway.
I'm a little disappointed because despite Millsap's hustle, he's not nearly as skilled as Boozer. Nor can he play any 5 at all.
But I'm excited to see how good Millsap can be. Even though he's not as skilled as Boozer, he does seem to play with more heart, defense, and toughness. I also wouldn't mind seeing AK47 get some time @ the 4. It provides us with more PT for CJ and Wes. We'll also get to see probably more of Hayward.
I think it starts a new chapter for the Jazz. I'd like to see what we can do with the upcoming cash that we'll have. Personally, I know this may get me murdered on this board, but IMO I believe we're entering a mini rebuilding phase. Memo is on the downside of his career. Boozer is gone. AK47 is probably going to be gone after this year. Deron is clearly now the lone leader and "franchise" player. The rebuilding phase will allow us to develop our younger players, spend money on new free agents, and perhaps finally build a championship team that was obviously impossible to construct with marshmallows Boozer and Memo inside and AK47 sucking our coffers dry.
