For those calling for a S & T, why would Chicago have any interest in giving the Jazz anything they would want? They might offer Deng but with his contract that's a no go without Gibson and a future pick as well. Since Chicago has no interest why should they deal with the Jazz on a S & T?

The only thing they'd give us back is probably James Johnson, and thats only if the cap comes in lower than expected. They want to have enough room to sign a max player.
 
If AK and Memo are healthy (big IF), and they get some of the young guys (CJ, Millsap, Hayward, Wesley (hoping they keep him), etc), i don't see us as a 41-41 team. Their record hasn't been bad without him so, I think this is still about a 46-50 win team. Problem is that won't help us in the draft and likely means an early exit. Again, a bad move most likely in the short term assuming they dont do anything else to try to upgrade but in the long run, possibly the right choice.
 
While Im glad it is about over, it is refreshing to know we have the smartest fans in the world. No one else, fans or experts, think Boozer sucks quite as bad as Jazzfanz do.
Boozer is easily a part of a Ring team. We had him paired with another no D big and expected them to play D. That was the problem, it wasnt Boozer. The guy is a great player and will show that still. Is he far better at O than D? duh...I will root for Sap, but to think he will, or can, fill in on a full time basis is silly.
Really hope we can get something out of this, some sort of S & T.

I'd take fairly decent over mediocrity every damn time. I know some fans don't see the difference and believe if you're not contending, it's pointless - but I'm not of that line.

Unfortunately, I think the Jazz are now destined to be an average team. Maybe 8th, 9th or 10th in the west. Which isn't good enough for an ideal playoff spot and certainly not bad enough for a good pick in the NBA draft.

Not me. Mediocrity in the NBA means you never have a shot at a title. I would rather take a risk and be bad that be fairly decent and never have a hope to get the title.

Paying Boozer that kind of money is insane. I hope that LBJ goes to NY or stays in CLE and that Chicago gets to eat that contract without their big payoff.

Honzward has been a homer of this year's first-round draft pick, and his assessment is closer than what some naysayers (including myself) might have originally thought.

...the epitome of complete lunacy: doing the same thing over and over again, yet expecting different results! We have dumped salary, tattoo's, and lack of defensive intensity....and replaced it with a tall, clean cut skinny kid with no tats at about a fraction of the cost! Something has to give!

Actually, Head is probably the kind of player Sloan would love. He has always been praised for his work ethic, his "professionalism," and his self-discipline. He is coachable.
