No.
Time to try something new. Make an offer to Tom Crean, Brad Stevens, and Buzz Williams (in that order). AND/OR fire Ty now and see if Hornacek is a guy you can roll with or you get a better pick. No lose.
My guess is FO reluctant to bring non home-grown coach because they afraid of the Jazz losing their identity they got with Sloan. This is why we got Corbin who promised to run basically the same ideology with some tweaks (nevermind the fact he hasn't built anything own in the meantime but scrapped a lot). The train of thought there is if they call an outsider like Tomjanovic, Adelman or either van Gandy they may demand to bring their people to suite the style of basketball they want to run. FO and Greg may believe the risk of them failing and having the same disaster as LAL had with Mike Brown. They know they are not Lakers and may end up as a team with no identity at all like Wolves (until recently), Bobcats or Suns.
I see your point, but what the everyone needs to realize is that you need players for an identity, not coaches. Sloan sucked as a coach until he had two gritty, hard nosed, play through pain, hall of famers. Those three grew together.
Bring in talent, find a coach to develop and play that talent correctly. Coaches are the director. Without the right actors, the movie still sucks.
I'd love Stan.
I'd be intrigued by Brad Stevens.
These are my top two as well.
What is sad is that im convinced nothing will change.
The org thinks Ty has a difficult situation so he will get next year and probably one more at least.
If we do bad next year when rolling out your players he will get that excuse built in. Then he will get the year after to "prove" he can do it in a "regular" situation.
Problem is that's two years longer than he should have been around.
Ty isn't good at anything and I'm sad that the Jazz have to prove their "loyalty" and stubbornness by keepin him around when it is abundantly clear is he not leading a team anywhere and never will.
No disrespct Hack, but I think you are mistaken when it comes to KOC. He is one of the better GM's in the NBA and i'm not sure you can blame him for the Log Jam at the 4 and 5. consider how things have worked out. we traded for Jefferson to keep D-will happy and be a good team. when that did not work we still had his contract for the next 3 or 4 years. We haven't traded him becasue i bet no trade out there really helps the jazz, and what if we had traded him and brought back a player that doesn't help us, makes a ton of money, and has 3+ years left. That would not help us. Give KOC credit for taking the best player available when he took Kanter, even though he was a big. I think in taking Kanter, the Jazz realized that Jefferson was not the long term solution. If we felt he was, we may have drafted Brandon Knight. Also give him Credit for having the sagacity and audacity to trade D-will for what has turned into Kanter Favors, and a 1st rounder in this years draft. If we haven't made a trade it is becuase nothing out there fits the vision for what KOC has going forwardNo thanks to Sloan. It would be just more of the same vet b.s. That's where Ty got it ftom.
What we need is an overhaul of the entire thing. Get rid of everybody from the top down. KOC is as much to blame as Ty Corbin. I have no idea why only about 3-4 people here can see that. For some reason, 90% Jazzfanz think Corbin hired himself and he is in charge of personell moves too. Talk about heads in the sand.
Newsflash- Ty won't fire himself, didn't hire himself, cant make trades, and didn't assemble the roster.
The biggest problems on this team is the logjam of bigs and crappy point guards. Thats all on KOC.
I wonder what Sloan could do at the point. hmmmmm

Ya ya ya. I've heard it all before. Thats pretty much the standard response. But yet here we are, with this team, and all its short comings.
I could go through all the stupid things KOC has done, but why bother. I've come to the realization that I can't change anyone's mind on this. It is what it is. KOC is god around here, and no matter how many times the team fails, it won't change.

dude I agree with you
bigal needed to be moved no matter what.. waived, released or a buyout or a trade for a bunch of peanuts..
1. we have two top3 bigs that a ready to explode
2. we still have millsap
3. we have jeremy evans, who's one of the best 10min guy
4. basketball reasons
I am digging Brad too.I'd love Stan.
