Burks or Shumpert?

bruh the Jazz got absolutely throttled that series, Hayward shot 18%, you honestly think they'd have done worse with Shumpert? They got swept and the average margin of victory was near 15 iirc.

Favors was the only one who showed up.. and they had no answer whatsoever for Ginobili, thats the same season Shumpert played great defense vs then MVP Derrick Rose, stole the ball off of him 2x to close out a game.

Josh Howard is who the Jazz were starting at that point, but the now 40million dollar Shumpert would've done worse. right?
So we would have lost by 10 per game instead of 15. Awesome. (By the way, check how many minutes Burks played in that series. Burks had very little to do with the reason we got our asses kicked)

Utah would have gotten throttled either way. Chumpert would have made little difference because the spurs were a vastly superior team.

I will say that I am a fan of Shumpert's throwback coiffe. I ain't mad at it.

and yet their market values are similar. I guess it just depends on who you ask and when you get injured.

Burks best season is also the only one he's managed to play more than 80% of the games on the schedule. Shumperts best season involved starting for a conference champion.

Burks has been healthy his entire career besides last season, so to say that he 'only managed' to play 80% of his games is misleading. He had an idiot coach who DNP'd him for no real reason

Yet another case of someone agreeing with me but doing so in toddler-esque fashion.. such is the life of a Jazzfanzer I suppose. ****s rampant here.

Burks was a non-factor in that series, Its not something I hold against him.

Shumpert would've been able to guard the perimeter better than Josh Howard, do you disagree with that notion? no? then **** off.

Iman as a rookie was considerably stronger than Alec, probably still is. plus he's got better hands defensively(do you disagree??). The Jazz got punked that series, Iman is the type of player I'd take on my team for games or series like that, because he's a soldier, that's all I'm saying.

Shumpert was also a rookie that year though right?
Corbin was the coach right?
Corbin had old wing vets that he liked at his disposal right?
Nuff said

This Shump = defensive stalwart business needs to stop. He's one of the worst off-ball defenders I saw in the playoffs this year. Plays great man-to-man D, plays terrible, terrible team D. Many journos on Twitter talked about this at length.

Burks 100x over Shump.

Iman Shumpert locked down then reigning MVP in the 4th quarter and overtime of a game his rookie season.

Shumpert was playing thru multiple injuries in the playoffs, and if you didnt notice the Cavs rotation was cut short.

Doesn't explain why he's been perpetually clueless and has low IQ with team D. Gets killed off back-door cuts, rarely makes the right decision in when to double/when to run shooters off the line

What did he just get 40 million for? his offense?

Cuz GMs thinks he fits the "3 and D" mould, and think that his Team-D warts can be addressed.

I personally have my doubts. Everyone looks better playing next to Lebron. Is Tristan Thompson an 80mil player? Pls.

am i to take these generalizations seriously? #****ty****inglogic

fish continues blaming others for his boy's shortcomings. Nothing new here.
Actually I think Burks is doing just fine.
He is a major piece on an up and coming talented young team on a long well paying contract (longest contract on the team btw)

To his credit, he made it through the dark ages of the Corbin years and came out looking good

How is this thread even a thing? Burks is elite at attacking the rim and always getting something out of it. You don't let go of specialists of his caliber. Besides, I'm curious to see how he comes back with a strong shoulder and hungry for ball after watching how his team grew by the end of last year. I bet he's dying to be part of it.
