What's new

Can I just say that I'm sick and tired of the press [aka ESPN] calling out the Jazz for tanking?

Why are these people coming out of the woodwork now? Tanking has been an issue for a long time? But now it's the biggest problem ever?

These same morons said nothing when the Warriors tanked to keep their top 7 protected pick away from the Jazz so they could add Harrison Barnes to the core of Steph and Klay (And Draymond? I can't remember)

I just can't imagine how stupid one would have to be to think that shutting down starters entirely isn't crossing a line, but shutting them down for roughly 12 min. below their season average is.

"At least we can pretend it's an injury in the former" is arguing that you have to be more egregious in order to be less egregious. Complete nonsense.

You're misrepresenting what happened. The Jazz were going to easily win the Magic game. Then they lost it on purpose by sitting the starters, playing joke lineups and not using any timeouts in crunch time. Let's not pretend this isn't clear as day.

Hardy would NEVER have made the above decisions if he wasn't trying to lose. Period. You know it, I know it, the League office knows it, millions of fans know it.

Again: in-game shenanigans like that cross a line that's obviously not defined in black and white, but it exists and people recognize it. Even if you've decided not to care about it, I'd expect you to be intellectually honest.

It really is as worse at is has ever been. It's an issue. Don't take it personally

Only an idiot would interpret my post as me claiming the Jazz weren't trying to lose this game.

The point is, teams have been intentionally losing for decades, by shutting down their starters outright. Claiming it's more egregious to instead play them for part of the game is just a clown argument. Which is probably why you're making it.
