I don't know. As it started with fever/vomiting I assumed it was a flu bug. When the pain in the groin muscle started, I associated that with walking funny on the sprained ankle. When the swelling, sores, and redness started; I went to the doc. But that almost two full days later.

Any idea how you got this?

They said in my case there's no way to know. Any time the skin got punctured could have been the culprit. There are probably a half dozen cuts or scratches on my body at any given time. Not to mention an ingrown toenail I'd just ripped out.
