28. . . resigns

I don't know what I was thinking. Now I lose the e-pawn and the game. I had to play hxg6. Still, the position was very difficult to defend. Very nice game, Siro. Thanks for playing.

Yeah, solid game. Could have gone either way. Nice job. :)

I was sorely tempted h7, but wasn't fond of bringing the bishop back to e4.

Game with LogGrad98

1. Nf3 e6
2. g3 Nc6
3. Bg2 Be7
4. d4 f5

Ok for those observing who are interested, here is a pop quiz. What opening did I begin with as white and what opening has it evolved into with OB's last move, or what is his defensive opening at this point?

So here is my next move:

1. Nf3 e6
2. g3 Nc6
3. Bg2 Be7
4. d4 f5
5. b3

I know the opening was some variation of the Indian Attack. It still looks like KIA to me, evolved into Long Variation or Sicilian Variation?

I recall Nf3 as the Reti opening, and we are now in the Dutch Defense, more or less (often arrived at via 1. d4 f5).

Bingo. I like the Reti as it can really throw some people off and there are a lot of attacking lines that really constrict black's development and it is very adaptable to multiple defenses, and the Dutch defense (and variations) is one of my two favorites when playing black, the other being variations on the sicilian.
