So, do I have the bragging rights as the only one to notch up a win against you?

Yep. My only loss so far. I do think Log is probably better than me though, and I'd bet he would in a series of matches.

Edit: And I think me, you, and Jonah are about the same level. I think I'm better than Babe, and probably better than Enes (but we'll have to see).

I think you and Jonah are better than I am. Even when I won that game, I felt like the metaphorical blind squirrel.

Bump.

If you're not into this game, I don't mind calling it an early draw.

So in any new format or board, I always have some problems at first, but will have a steep "learning curve", erratic might be the term.

I respect all of the players here, and advise you not to give me any breaks. . . .

Want to go again?

Let's go. I'm riding shotgun for a few hours. I'm on my mini and can't do the pics, but know how they work.

I'd like white and open with e4, if that's the king's pawn forward toe.

1.e4 e5
2.Nf3 Nc6
3.d4 exd4
4.Nxd4 Bc5
5.Be3 Nf6
6.Nc3 Nxd4

I don't like the position I'm in, so I'm just going on the offensive from the get go.

Is anybody following Carlsen-Anand? The fourth game is being played right now and can be followed live on a number different sites.

So far, it's been a great match! In last year's match Carlsen won decisively and I thought he should be the big favorite this time. The first game was a hard draw. Carlsen had the winning chances but Anand secured the draw with a perpetual. The second game was a slow crush of Anand. Carlsen had the white pieces and a strong initiative. He was able to impose "Alekhine's Gun" on the e-file and Anand's defense eventually collapsed under the pressure. So here the match looked to be a repeat of the previous match. I felt bad for Anand.

Game three was a turning point for Anand. It has been four years since Anand has beaten Carlsen in a classical tournament game. He has to win to show he can compete. And he wins decisively! Carlsen was never in this game. In a Queen's Gambit Anand played rapidly and produced a novelty on move twenty. Anand gets a pawn on the seventh rank and a crushing position. No real counterplay ever in this game for Carlsen. In post game press conference Anand is elated and Carlsen clearly demoralized.

Where does the match go from here? Anand is in much better form than the first match. I expect this match to now be very exciting and competitive.

UPDATE: In the fourth game Anand gets equality early and even looks to have the better chances for a few moves, but now 23.Qd3! by Carlsen turns the game. Now Carlsen has pressure and a slightly better game! Anand must now fight for the draw. Follow the game to see what happens!
