Of course the cynic will say that CJ just wants his money before the new CBA/lockout, which could be true, but I think he is in a good situation here - young team, he's part of the core, Corbin seems to have tailored the offense for him a bit, etc.
I don't see why the Jazz wouldn't pick up his option next year...especially if there will be a lockout and they don't have to pay him for part of it. They'd still have his rights to trade him next year or then they can work on an extension with him under the new CBA.
Hopefully I'm here for a long time. Obviously, everybody would like an extension. If they just want to give me one, if they want to give me more, I'll gladly take it. But at the same time, I'll gladly take them just extending me for the next year to be able to just keep playing basketball — that's what it's all about. I'm just happy to be here, man. I'm just happy that they've given me the opportunities to grow.
